This proves one thing.

The talent won in spite of Lindy last year.

I truly believe the changes we have seen after Game 2 vs Rags came from ANDREW BRUNETTE.
They fundamentally played a different game (which can actually help you succeed).

Lindy should have stuck to a similar style but went back to the run & gun. It was exposed this year and he refused to adjust.

Did the team overachieve last year? most probably.
However, they underachieved significantly this year.

With a better coach and more 'experienced' core, they should be closer to last year than this year.

Get them a coach who will be able to adapt on the fly. Get them a coach who will mold his style to the roster.

I would not trade for a goaltender (unless it's a no brainer) until we see how those in the organization react under a new system.

I'm a Canucks fan.

This guy cut corners all the goddamn time. He never played the prospects on the farm; the little AHL success he had is because Markstrom cleared waivers in 2014-15 and carried them to the finals. He doesn't have a system, loves grinders, and doesn't develop players. Canucks media hyped him up as the next prodigy coach because he coached Utica to a final. So national media picked up the storm and branded him as a "good coach." Once the Canadian media has a narrative, it sticks. It's bad.

Because nobody really watches Vancouver play because they were shit under Green, they didn't even realize how shit he is. But he never got called out for it because he had that previous reputation of being a good AHL coach (all because of Markstrom's 0.934).

I hope you guys find a better next coach. You guys don't deserve this.

No one is absolving Lindy of anything. It’s just flat ridiculous to pretend losing your number 1 D when you’re relying on two 20 year olds to carry the load isn’t an unbelievable task. Not to mention the franchise center and top paid wing were wrecked by injury.

And the goalies don’t make saves — that may have some small impact on the team’s record of late.

Also McLeod just disappearing. Almost forgot that. My god this season was a joke.

Yeah and the point is Lindy sucks either way and needed to GTFO like months ago. Bringing up the injuries in a thread about the coach is apologism.

I think our goalies have been given a raw deal for years now with this shitty system. Doesn’t mean I’ll be going out of my way to point that out when Vitek finally gets shipped out, cuz I know he needs to go regardless.
