Relax Leaf haters, be assured none of these close calls will cut for the Leafs come April.

Overreaction. 2 game ban and a fine will suffice.
I was in the lower level and actually got hit by a water bottle. Pru center security actually did a great job. I was watching all of them on their headsets finding the losers. Someone had to be watching the replays and relayed it to tbe gaurds to find them all because they were able to ID a dozen or so.

oh dang i was thinking you were in like middle school and your mom let you stay up late tonight. it's hard to keep up with the rules and all over such a long period of being a "not casual" fan. I like helping out the elderly so I'll break it down for you:

1) Contact in the crease =
any contact (whether incidental or intentional) results in a no goal and should be a penalty if deemed intentional

2) Contact outside the crease =
a) intentional contact results in a no goal and a 2 minute penalty
b) incidental contact where a player makes a reasonable effort to avoid contact (does not mean they avoid contact) results in a goal
c) incidental contact where a player does not make reasonable effort to avoid contact results in no goal

there are nuances to this but I hope this short guide serves you well in your "not casual" viewing experiences
You missed one:

Goalie trying to enter back into his net and make a save with contact outside the crease, incidental or not = no goal. Thus the rule #1,

This is a Toronto Maple Refs win. Good calls. Hope they will continue to do it in the first round, they should find keys to find the way to play in the second. Good management of the game. It making the game more competitive. Everybody happy.

The goalie has a right to enter back into his net. The NJ players path prevented him from doing so. Had he gone the long way round, he would not have made contact with the goalie, thus it is not a reasonable effort to avoid contact when there was a safer route to leave the zone. Even if you thought it was a reasonable effort, you have to remember that the goalie must always have the ability to make the save. Anytime there is contact even outside of the crease, you're never gonna get the call for a goal. If you were more than a casual fan you would know that.
You need to show me the rule that says the goalie has the RIGHT to enter back into the net.
As a fan of neither team I thought
the goalie turned into the forward.
As for the 1st goal. The leaf prevents the NJ player from the easy out. So he turns and their skates touch. Leafs had a lot to do with that contact.
As for the kick, it’s probably called correctly but that rule isn’t really clear as the kicker wasn’t the guy who last touched the puck and the interpretation can certainly be considered selective. (Not like a hand pass where the rule is clearly defined)

Face it the devils got screwed.

It was never valid based on how condescending he was

You just.. called your own opinion not valid? I mean.. come on...

I'm sorry, did you mean to paste a made-up rule here? The rulebook says nothing about what the goalie is doing when contact is made. The only thing that applies is whether the contact is incidental or intentional.

Anyways, I've had enough of the low hanging fruit for the night. Congrats on the win!

I could see if video review took awhile on any one of these. It didn't feel close.

I was saying that my opinion was never valid in his eyes, otherwise he would not have been so condescending.

I already pasted the rule. The goalie must have the ability to defend his goal, rule #1, pasted it more than once. It doesn't matter if contact is incidental or not, in or outside of the crease, if the goalie doesn't have the ability to defend his goal, it's never a good goal.

(1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal

The third goal is pretty well covered in the rules, actually:
(i) A kicked puck that deflects off the body of any player of either team (including the goalkeeper) shall be ruled no goal.

(ii) A kicked puck that deflects off the stick of any player (excluding the goalkeeper’s stick) shall be ruled a good goal.

basically it needs to hit any non-goalie stick after the kicking motion for it to be a goal.. even if the original kick itself wasn't directed towards the net.

it definitely was kicked by Haula and then careened off 1-2 Leafs players.. doesn't look like it hit any sticks.. so it is a pretty clear no-goal IMO.

The only thing surprising is about this game is NJ ability to score 3 illegal goals in one game. It's probably a record.

LOL at these Leafs players being appaled they were targeted. The follow up question should be, “then why did 3 or 4 of your teammates mock the crowd and make gestures for more to be thrown at you?”

Precious responses.

And again, this is not excusing the shit behavior by those losers in the crowd today. But these comments by the players are ridiculous after they were playing the heel against the crowd at the end there. They were wanting more.

Which Leaf players were egging the crowd to throw more? any video?

Im looking for video. I was row 9 center ice tonight. I clearly saw a few of them doing it when they first celebrated right after the buzzer and then 4 bottles were immediately thrown at them. I mean, I don’t blame the players, I’d do the same lmao but the comments afterwards are ridiculous if some of them egged it on. I mean hell, I was hit by a bottle and was pissed myself so like I said, I don’t blame them at all if they egged them on afterwards.

Ill try to catch the replay on our local sportsnetwork tomorrow and get video.

Leafs players were literally mocking the crowd calling for it when they won. So yeah, it will be heading their way.

Again, not condoning this bullshit by the scumbags of the fanbase.
that's exactly what you're doing. Leaf players mocking the crowd - what a lie. If you have to lie to make your point, that's every indication you're wrong.

No class, no dignity.

I was in section 1, row 6. After the game ended they were making some gestures and they were definitely getting stuff thrown at them. I honestly didn’t notice how it got started.

I felt really bad for the people in the first row on the ends, people were throwing drinks and it would hit the netting and fall right on their heads.
