@Its Always Sundstrom

I quoted one of your posts angry at Fitz last night and I think it may have been deleted because it may have come off as malicious to someone who wasn’t familiar with the reference lol. But I knew you’d get it.

I said something like I wasn’t happy with your post and you may find yourself working harder with a gun at your back for a bowl of rice a day.

It was probably much more clever when I made it originally. I noticed you on here and was bummed that you hadn’t commented on it, but then I checked my post history and it was gone.

I knew you wouldn’t take it at all personally and would get the reference, but with how heated it seems to be getting in here, that was probably mistaken by a mod for a malicious, nasty flaming post lol.

Or maybe I just didn’t hit send or something and it never went through anyway lol.
No worries😉
We both know you and I are tighter than Fitz grip on reality.

Worrying is pretty much all they have.

It's tough for me to worry too much because teams in this league are built around difference makers at forward. Ours are Hughes, Hischier, and Bratt. If those guys aren't good enough for whatever reason there's nothing we can do. We can't go to the magic store and trade Hughes and a 3rd for some tougher version of him. He was the consensus best player in a draft we had a 1st overall in, we took him, and it turns out he was worth it. We're built around him now and that's just how it is.

Nothing we do here is worthwhile, but worrying about Hughes is borderline meaningless, he's not going anywhere. I'd much rather spend time thinking about how to eke out wins in the margins because those are the things that aren't set in stone for a franchise.
I don’t think it’s as black and white as this core either being good enough or not. Until proven otherwise, they are a tier below mcdavid/Drai, Mack/Makar, Kucherov/Hedman. But it can still be good enough to win, so long as management recognizes they need significant depth and support in the rest of the lineup, and a 3C who borderlines as a 2C for when injuries occur.

With having said that, I myself am not worried about Jack. I think he can put in many healthy seasons. I do chalk it up to rotten luck in these last two incidents

But people should understand the worry that many folks have on that subject. Its not an outlandish feeling to have
You are kidding yourself if you aren’t worried about jack going forward. He has lost yet another summer to add valuable muscle. He will come back at the same 170 lbs and be picking himself off the ice every game. Thats the reality

Love love love love this Kovacevic deal.

Hughes-Pesce
Siegenthaler-Kovacevic
Dillon-Hamilton

This is a great depth chart. What do we do with Nemec and Casey? I wouldnt be surprised if one got dealt this summer. I dont see it happening today. Could also see Hamilton being on the move this summer.

I'm ready for Fitz to lose his job if all he did trade wise all season was Dumolin.

This team was fixable and he did nothing.
People lost their minds over a second round pick and Traff. Do you think getting anything close to an impact center would be a good trade in terms of value today? I'm disappointed in Fitz but really, this team's failure can be laid at the feet of whoever has screwed up the team's drafting so they have zero in the pipeline for centers. Just unfathomable. If they had a few developmental centers you'd have a young promising inexpensive player to take minutes away from Haula and Lazar and Dowling. That's far far worse than today's lack of big trade. You really think Glass is worth a 3rd? He's replacement level at best right now. Would you want Schenn for Nemec plus next year's first? They made their bed with this team a long time ago.

We'll never win anything with Fitzgerald. Wasting years. I feel sorry for myself and other Devils fans.

Wow Zetterlund got traded & not to us. How does Fitz not work magic to get him back. He's something this roster needs. I would straight up give Mercer 1 for 1 for him.

I am a 15 year season ticket holder. In those 15 I only saw three postseasons.

I want playoffs. Every fan should and it’s an absolute condemnation of Fitz to allow the forward group to be that handicapped all season long.

Everyone keeps saying, who cares we won’t win the Cup. No kidding but passionate season ticket holders and fans have been through a lot and we should have gotten a better TDL than this. Especially being in the East where the Metro is pretty weak and winning a round is a legit possibility.

Just very demoralizing stuff this season. I do hope the team rallies here and gets us in the playoffs against a suspect Canes team.

Edit: Apparently NJ has some trades in the queue

they played better than I expected against Dallas. If they can maintain that without being demoralized after that last second loss and what's probably an ugly game against a rolling Winnipeg team they can win games against other decent but not great teams.
