Selling would be f***ing idiotic.

Way to signal to your "young, talented" core that they ain't shit without Jack.

Get a f***ing grip.
yeah i don’t see any world in which we become sellers.

we absolutely need someone else down the middle. Mercer is too dumb to be a center anymore, his IQ is just not up there offensively.

i know it’s hilarious but i wouldn’t mind taking a swing at Zacha again lmao.

and lastly i thought it was gonna be like 50/50 we get rentals for this year. now i see it as like 90/10 that we dont. we dont have a first to mortgage future with.

You don’t concede the playoffs when you are sitting in position in March. You don’t trade for a Rantinen level rental, but you can spend some assets (not a Nemec or Casey) to get more depth and guys who can be a little more productive than what they have.

I was a person who always liked to scout, find talented young players and watching how they are developing. I always never liked short term trades.

And Im still is. So im on buyers side. Yeah, I think they should buy. There are prospects and picks outside Nemec, Casey and Sylayev. They just need to buy more long term pieces. Would be great to find good 2nd line level center or young NHL level player with this level of ceiling.
The problem is the TDL is historically not the best time for those deals. And you have more options in the summer. If the goal is to improve this team not just now, but in the future, it doesn't make sense to make the move now out of some sense of catharsis seeing Jack go down. Be smart.

The logic I sympathize with is that you want to send a good message to the rest of the team that you believe in them, but there's no way if I'm Fitz I'm out there making deals just to signal. The list of players that improve the team today and in the future, and that are also available, isn't that long.

Also, Jack f***ed his right shoulder again, the same one that he hurt last year against the blues that he got repaired. So shoulder surgery on his right shoulder 2 times in a year is not great. That shoulder is going to be real susceptible to getting f***ed again and again and again.

I still think it's shoulder, but wrist would be best case. If they made playoffs, he could return and be solid assuming it isn't a bad break. If it's his damn shoulder, he's gonna be near useless even if he forces himself back with how he plays as is. Plus added concern for next season+. Soo wrist would be positive in my eyes.

I've never broken a wrist, but since first dislocating my shoulder in my late 20s, it now happens at least once a year (hockey and soccer). It's maddening and painful. Can pop back in and gut out soccer with brace, can't for hockey. I'd rather take a hammer to my wrist than have shoulder issues. Clear bias here lol. Oh and as I mentioned previously, the surgical options suck and have a high failure/relapse rate.
Welp, maybe Jack and I can be rehab buddies. So look, I know a lot of people are gonna freak out about Jack. And per usual, any concerns about future issues will be condescendingly mocked. Can we not do the mocking nonsense because people have a valid concern? At least do your due diligence before continuing to be ignorant about shoulder injuries and surgery effectiveness.

No, I'm not saying his career is over, but future issues are a valid concern going forward. Even worse for a center and an undersized one at that. Doesn't help that he still falls down 10 times a game either. They need a 2C next season. End of story. Can be a 2/3C tweener or a top 6 utility W that can play C well. I'm sick of having this conversation.
