The Carolina series in 2009 is the last one I think of. He was good in that series, other than two bad goals in game 7. Not to mention that 08-09 was the most rested non-lockout year of his career. He was rested up injured for 4 months that year.
The years and playoff rounds that come to mind are the 2008 Rangers series and the second round in 06 and 07.
I’m not gonna count 2004 as he was clearly gassed from the long cup run the year before.
And I’m definitely not gonna count 2010, as I have said many times that I consider his decline to have started in January of 2010. His play in the 2010 part of the 09-10 season was an astronomical drop from his play during the 2009 part of that season.
Playing him 77 games at age 37 sure seemed like quite the choice. I’m sure that didn’t help, but by 2010 Brodeur wasn’t really Brodeur anymore.
