No team is making up 10 points on Boston or Washington with 30 games to go. If it was November still they would have a chance.

Roaring quietly. Devils will climb up to the 9th or 10th spot in the east so Lou doesn't need to draft elite talent in the summer :sarcasm:

Cory Schneider has been excellent lately and they're getting good contributions from depth players such as Bernier. Lou Lamoriello teams have always responded well to coaching changes. Remember that incredible rip they went on in the 2nd half after Lemaire replaced MacLean?

The true game-changer was the arrival of top-line center Scott Gomez though, Gomer for MVP!

Playoffs are most likely out of the question though barring a major collapse from one or two of the top 8 and the Devils playing above .750 hockey.

Remember 2010-2011 when the team was as hot as they were crappy for the early part of the year. It failed in the end but this kinda feels like that minus the superstar forward.

Devils fans should be happy the last time they messed up their draft position they won the lottery anyways. This time they'll do more than move up a few spots too.

IMO, the difference is 2 things. Larsson has been phenomenal since Deboer got fired. But their defensive zone play is much better as a whole.

If they hold on tonight, they'll be 8-2-2 in their last 12, and 9-5-2 since firing Deboer. But let's not make this thread until they're at least within 4 points. This thread is premature.

8-2-2 is an impressive stretch but everyone knew the team would improve under new coaching..

We would literally need to go 24-4-2 or something like t hat to even sniff the playoffs

Rangers did it in 07 I think. Went 17-4 the last games of the season and made it.

That was insane, you guys ripped off like 22 wins in 25 games while still maintaining the L4L

Boy, they looked terrible vs the Sens (who suck as well) the other night. If they make it, I'd be stunned and Schneider should look into buying some MVP votes.
