Both. They both try to avoid contact when they can since they got hurt

Timo was hitting guys a few games ago, unless he got hurt again. He killed that guy on Seattle the other game at home and the Seattle guy hobbled off. It's possible Timo got hurt again somehow.

Jack yes I definitely noticed.

So if a team gets scored on first shift but leads in shots 20-1, they're bad for that game's start? The goal was obviously a Smith f*** up but they were not bad to start tonight. The turning point was the first powerplay getting stifled and then McMichael scoring his second goal.
Which McMichael goal was almost the first shift after our bad power play. We looked disorganized at the end of the power play and it carried over.

That said, during the long stretch between the 2d McMichael goal and going down 3 -1 in the third, I really don’t remember all that much sustained pressure or battle from us. It was mostly perimeter stuff, nothing really heavy inside, sometimes a one and done skill play (like Jack right before their 3d goal).

Despite all the shots, I didn’t think we looked dangerous tonight. I didn’t see the effort, focus and determination being very high. Like so many times this season, we looked tired and not very talented.

In the offseason, Fitz is going to have to determine what he thinks we really have here. We have injuries I can’t really assess, but we have not looked all that talented this season. That’s what surprises me. We’ve entirely deserved the mediocre spot we occupy in the standings.

I don't think Timo is comfortable at LW either.

I'm not happy with him and he doesn't deserve a full pass but injuries and misuse by Ruff is absolutely playing a role too

This is inexcusably bad

I missed this game completely and tuned in for the low-lights.

Devils had 1 goal on 33 shots to 17 when it was 2-1?
Every goal looked like the team on the ice decided to take a name. Was it ill-timed collapses? Bad Daws goals? I saw a LOT of standing around on the goals against.

Good gravy. WTF happened tonight?

Same old shit from Ruff in the post game.

No one seems angry enough in that locker room to say enough. This should have been a lock the doors, team meeting night
This is who we are this year most of the time. The players are every bit as responsible as the coaches as I see it. Hopefully it’s just a growing experience but I will be really (and happily) surprised if much changes from here on. We are running out of time and a lot of teams are scrambling just like we are.

Didn't they already have one or I misremembering it? It's probably a lost cause if you're doing it at game 55

Every mistake we made went into the net. Id say we were fairly dominant for large stretches while the game was 1-1 and throughout 1-2. We failed to capitalize on our PP with full 2 min in zone. We had good chances. Smith and Luke were terribad pairing, particularly smith. But make no mistake Luke wasn't good defensively. He had a nice rush that anointed to nothing.

We outskated the caps but they literally capitalized on each key mistake our team happened to make. Goaltending wasn't bad but I'd say Nico daws wants that 2nd McMichael goal back. {IMO) and that was their 2nd goal.

I wouldn't really blame Daws on any goal besides the 2nd, if that. Another game where the Devils don't know how to play low scoring game v a veteran/bad team without shitting themselves because they didn't go up 3. Oh and Brendan Smith-Luke Hughes being reunited to the obvious results we've seen in the past. Basically coaching being the main issue as per usual

Ruff with the ho-hum tough luck no energy post game.

I am sick of this loser.
Why give the players a pass? Where’s the guy making a play, putting the club on his shoulders, changing the momentum of the game when we need it? If your best players don’t step up and carry you, it’s hard to win consistently. And ouf our power play. That’s the difference right there, probably even as much as 6 or 7 points in the standings right there since we went cold around the Holidays.

Im watching Oppenheimer. See you tomorrow fam

I didn’t understand why people watched both Oppenheimer and Barbie on the same day until I saw how Barbie ran the dream car into the atomic pile under the stands at the U of Chicago and started that first chain reaction. Really opened my eyes to how the future of nuclear weapons was all Ken’s fault.

Outskated them but were kept on the perimeter and it didn’t amount to much. When we needed to we didn’t really create very much.
