Wow we lose and OOT get f***ed.

This team pisses me off relentlessly. Don't even feel like showing up to watch them for the rest of the week.
My snowbird buddy on the east coast of Florida is already thinking about no-showing Thursday's game.

He literally flies up for a day on the morning of from West Palm into Trenton, parks at the airport (unless it's a week or more between home games) and repeats for the next home game. Unless we have a week or more in between games, then somebody brings him/picks him up from Trenton airport. He has some kind of flght pass with Frontier airlines where he pays $500 a year and all he has to pay for flights are the taxes (which is like $15 or $16 bucks per flight) as long as he's not checking baggage and he doesn't, because he has a house in Jersey also. Guy pays more on airport parking for 2-3 days at a time each way than he does on the flights.

He's thinking about no-showing Thursday. He has a new girlfriend down there and it takes time away from her and it costs him more money to fly up at this point than taking a loss on the tickets/selling them resale for a discount, because he has season tickets and they were already paid for 6 months ago.

He also says he has a bit of a cold after coming back from Jersey and feels shitty up there in the cold and it's not worth it anymore.

I don't blame him. You have to be committed to even come up for a day like he does. And I know he can't stand staying up there for a day or two, so he rarely stays if we're on a home stand. He'll literally fly up for the Thursday game on Thursday morning, fly back to Florida on Friday morning. Then fly back to Trenton on Saturday and he'd stay through Sunday since games are on back to back days.

Disaster he got injured and is playing injured. Honestly not worried whatsoever about him going forward, or anyone in the core for that matter.
People keep saying this stuff like it’s confirmed and it just isn’t. He was injured at one point and playing below 100% - that’s all we know and that was weeks ago.

Same thing with Hughes. I don’t see him laboring out there, he’s just irrelevant.

These lines outside of the Nico line suck ass. Smith still getting major time. Zero PP adjustments. Can't start on time. Can't create any sustained momentum between games.

Considering the talent he has, Ruff might be the worst coach in the league this year.
To be fair he played about 3 mins less than the next closest guy and still managed to put up a truly horrific game.

Continuing to play Smith in any capacity when we have other perfectly capable defensemen sitting and/or in the AHL should be a fireable offense.

I don’t care how good he is in the room, it’s time to waive him and be done with it.
That's not the coach's fault, that's the do-nothing GM's fault

It's almost impossible to be this bad but Brendan Smith says hold my beer

The second I heard that they put Luke on his off side and paired him with Smith I knew it was goi g to be bad. That’s already been tried several times this season and it’s been a disaster every time, and that was before Luke hit a wall.

Pitiful and embarrassing display of coaching. Makes me sick.

lol ruff is not being fired this season, if that was going to happen it would have already.
Not during season, but surely after this season if we see more games like we saw tonight down the stretch.

You can get away with these types of games when you have Jack and maybe 2 or 3 other regulars injured in the same game.

What regulars did we have out tonight? Other than Dougie, who isn't coming back this season and has already missed 3 months and Marino who is just out sick?

Vitek? The worst player on the team this season? That's the only guy who could have possibly made us even worse tonight.

I know today was ass but no showing Thursday would be a bad look for this fanbase after talking all that shit to Rags fans about the weekend. I'll most likely go regardless, I've seen a ton of shitty losses to NYR live at The Rock, I'll add another one in the worst case scenario but I have a feeling they'll show up Thursday for god knows whatever reason

I think they will too.

And then they'll offer up yet another dud against worthless, cream of the crap Montreal on Saturday.

I mean at this point, it's more proof that he's issue number 1. I've been saying this the past month. Injuries happen to every damn team and they have coaches who get them over the hump until those players come back, this team won't contend for a Cup until Lazy Eye isn't the coach anymore

Didn't even take a minute for that pair to shit the bed either.

Idk how the f*** you see Luke struggling with the rookie wall lately and think moving him off his normal side to play with Smith, which has been the worst D combo we have played all year, and think that's a good idea.

I'm so f***ing tired of this old f***

Watch him when he gets any contact or goes to the boards. He doesn’t want to get touched and openly shys away. That’s not like him when he’s healthy.

I bet a really good coach could have gotten similar results we’ve seen this year out of the team two years ago, last years team to at least a game 7 against Carolina, and this years team ahead of Detroit and Philly.

Your snowbird buddy near West Palm wouldn’t happen to be my 88 year old step father?

This was literally the worst outcome to happen not just with this game but the whole OOT.

Jack
Meier
Mercer
Smith

Horrible games

Luke not good either. Not his fault coaches play him too much but he is not good defensively at all.

Nico Palat Bratt was ok line but none of them could bury a chance.

We can't win games if we only have 1 line of our top 9 showing up.

Time to shake up the 2nd and 3rd lines. Put Meier up with Jack and Haula with the 3rd line.somerhijf has to give here.

And for God's sake change PP1 before collectively we all lose our shit.

100%. There is enough talent to have been a bubble team two years ago, do what they did last year, and be a playoff team this year despite Vitek being awful and the injuries.

Ruff is a terribad coach.

If The Devils were the best team in the league I'd still think they'd lose to the Caps because that's just what always happens. I'd be very surprised if they manage to win this one.

Something freaky will happen!

Ovechkin scores 51 goals tonight and passes Gretzky record.

There be bad juju around this game, I feel it in my bones...

Well guys...

I'm not sure if Ruff is a terribad coach, but I think it's just time to move on.

He was lucky he came back last year. I think we all (or most of us) thought he was a goner after 21-22 and because he got another year, I think that's why a lot of people are hesitant to think he won't be back next year. Especially with the extension he got that doesn't even start until next year.

But I think it's time. I don't think he'll be here next year, unless we sneak in or just barely miss and just fall short.

A better coach would've beaten Carolina with that Devils team. I'm not joking that Devils team was arguably our best roster besides the Cup teams + 2000-2001. They had no Svech and kept getting obliterated in the middle of the ice. Not to mention, utter no names were toasting them in the series like Martinook and Kotkaniemi
