We will see if history repeats itself. Blackwood is 4-0-0 in his 4 starts against Vancouver. 0.73 GAA and .972 SV%. Could be why they started him tonight.

Two games in 19-20. A 2-1 victory with 30 saves on 31 shots and a 1-0 shutout with 25 saves.

Two games in 18-19. A 3-2 shootout win 25 saves in 27 shots and a 4-0 shutout 25 saves.

That was never a possibility. We would get one of the next two games. No one on her is suggesting him not getting a start on the trip.

I think they are significantly hurting their chances to win tonight to marginally increase their chances bs Calgary / Edmonton.

Personally think this is the game to start Blackwood. Calgary and Edmonton have a lot more firepower up front. Also hopefully he knows if he wants to share the net at all he has to put together a solid game. Could be good motivation.

His last game against Vancouver was on November 10th of 2019. Which was about 155 weeks ago. Well over a thousand days ago.

Like, that was literally OVER ONE HUNDRED GAMES AGO for Blackwood!

I'd say this start still looks wildly suspect.

I get it and I'd rather have kept giving Vanecek the net, but the numbers are the numbers and I don't think it's a huge issue. If he gets lit up sure, but I do this KIND of makes sense if you're being any smidgen of optimistic which I'm trying to be.

I'd rather give Blackwood NO games but if I had to, I'd give him the first Calgary game (sacrifice him there).

That actually a reason to start him back one of those teams. Very good chance they lose said games anyways. Increase you odds at the more winnable games and make sure you don’t bleed out too much from the trip.
