The Devils system would have liked Bratt to block the shot instead of crumple in and avoid it.

It's crazy that you wouldn't even be exaggerating if you said Bratt has been the worst forward on this team these playoffs. He's been less effective than our 4th liners and most of our dmen offensively. Can't really justify bringing him back.

I'm about ready to be done with this. Timo missed a wide open net but you can't be losing games 5-1 all the time. And Bratt is just terrible. He always expects someone else to do something instead of just doing it himself. Missed stick check? Cool another guy will take care of it. Shot block? Just kidding! Their second goal doesn't happen if anyone else other than him isnt in that position. Fail.

Schmid can't stop it if he can't see it. Bratt p***y footed that, Siegenthaler screened Schmid, the cluster of forwards in the slot couldn't clear the puck, etc. No "clearly on the goalie" if we're being honest.

Bratt is there with his stick and body in lanes. Burns has a long time to pick his head up and shoot where Bratt isn’t.

The Devils can’t do this because the Carolina wingers play closer to them and so the Devils defenseman don’t have a long time to pick out a passing or shooting lane.

The TV timeout with less than a minute left really was a factor in breaking our momentum and setting up that Burns goal. I mean a full timeout with less than a minute left before a face off in our end. Sucks.

This team is too good for just regular season performers. They’ll make the playoffs with the 5 million option who dogs it when it matters.
