I don't know. They're pretty fast. They could be a playoff team in the next few years, but probably have at least another year or two to go. Then again, they could have some attainable success like the 2018 Devils. I just don't think it will be sustainable before a few more years.I also don't see it with this Montreal core. I don't think they'll be a playoff team next year or even three years after that.
Oh nvm lmaoHe's been hurt, hasn't played since 1/31
I didn't realize that. I think he was hurt for a while, then came back briefly and has been out again the last week? Unless I'm wrong with that? He's been hurt, hasn't played since 1/31

If the Rangers beat Columbus tonight our cushion will be 8 at the break. I’d have taken that in a heartbeat when Markstrom went down, not even counting Nico.5-3 without Markstrom (including the game we lost him in). 4-3 without Nico (including the game we lost him in).
We kept our heads above water in the stretch where we were missing two of our most important players. Nothing has been ideal or perfect, but we’re still in a good spot.
Much needed break time, and hopefully a fully healthy squad come the final stretch.

Did we ever hear what the Siegrnthaler injury time is likely to be?
They have a lot of good young players. They could be a good team quite soon. Not for nothing, Montreal may be a good team next season
Honestly felt like they didn’t give up a lot. The 3rd was great.Only saw the highlights. Please tell me they don't tell the whole story story because it didn't look great for a 4-0 win.

It’s was an even game besides the 10 min onslaught in the 2nd. Then they did what was needed in 3rdHonestly felt like they didn’t give up a lot. The 3rd was great.
We can’t afford to give up a good forward for a 3rd line center, we will have a problem at the forward position where we’re already thin at the position.
Bastian for McDavid, doneIf we can swap him for someone who can actually play center and add another forward separately, we would be in a much better spot.

You aren't wrong, and I posted a few similar thoughts during the game, but I will say that this team has lost plenty of games when they dominated and once in a while it's nice to steal one. Let's see how they look after the break. Hopefully Hischier is back and maybe a couple of guys nursing bumps and bruises get some needed rest and play better down the stretch.View attachment 974714
While they won, they're still playing like shit and needed to goalie a bad Montreal team. They still have the same massive issues they've had for a month now where the defense has been shit and they're not generating more than the other team.
2 points is great, but this is a massive problem that has still yet to be addressed by Fitz.
You shouldn't need a goalie saving 3.92 above expected to beat a bad team.
Timo has been ass, awful contract for a 50 or so point player, yikes. It's worse with Haula and Mercer combined, 16 mil, ooooooof. The other three make peanuts, 3.125 mil.
