Yeah? Well what has that ****ing loser won?

Cally has been brutal this year, where is his energy and aggressiveness. He just skates around doing nothing. Hank has been mediocre. He is not the Hank of old. I had hoped with the contract out of the way he would settle in, but man he has not looked like himself.

Kreids continues to impress and I thought Miller had a great game. Zucca has been our best player for a while now, imo.

Miller had his best game of the year

Good for him

Cally just gets worse daily. Constantly looks tired or in pain. I'd be scared to extend him 2 years let alone 6 or 7

Tough one for slats there but I can't bring Callahan back unless he improves BIG TIME

Zucc kreider and MacTruck have been our most consistent players since october. Miller had a good game hopefully it carries over. richards is playing better but he also can go back to being crap very quickly. stepan and callahan need to get it together

Hope Marc Staal is going to be ok. Thing is, Boucher is 5'10" Staal is 6'4" and he goes for a poke check. Typical Staal. Stats before game show Staal is averaging just over 1 hit per game.

I wanted the Rangers to trade him before he got his concussion, because he is so soft. Now...

If some team offered the Rangers some assets and said, you could have them for either Staal or DZ, I'd rather they deal Staal.

Sorry if this is poor timing. I, like lotsa fans, have lost faith in the core and really wouldn't suffer if some of the old guard moved on. Because if they don't it could really bad in the future.

I missed the game, what happened to Staal? Dirty hit?

More unfortunate than dirty.

Shoulder to jaw. Looked too coherent getting off the ice for it to be a concussion. Laid on the ice for a few seconds, Rammer came over. By the time Rammer got there, Staal was already up and skating, but he skated directly to the locker room. Slammed his helmet in the runway on the way out.

Think AV was quotes as saying Staal "didn't feel quite right" or something along those lines.

Could be a concussion, could be a broken jaw, could just be a bit of a dinger, and Staal to the precautions necessary for his own self.

All we know right now is that it's an upper-body injury ;)

Hope he's okay.

Thanks. Not good.

I'm ready to see MDZ with Stralman getting big mins

Staal and his like 2 points his minus 8 whatever it is and his inability to catch any kind of hard pass cause he can't see it is not helping this team

Give MDZ the mins let the kid prove himself

If Staal is going to miss time, I'd like to see the Rangers give McIlrath a short stint, just the whet his appetite.

abomination

This team, as configured right now is going nowhere.

We were:

>Out-played
>Out-hit
>Out-hustled
>Out-coached
>Out-goaltended

We are making the playoffs?> Yes, I suppose thats a possibility. But, to what end? No way we get past the first round this year. No way.

A couple of other observations:

> Stralman with a couple of costly turnovers tonight including the one that led to Cally's high stick
> Our defense does not take the body NEARLY onough
> If Falk drops the gloves with that idiot that stupid foot goal never happens
> Hank needs to make big-time, game-deciding saves
> Defense does not take the body
> Has anyone seen Rick Nash?

I don't miss all the shot blocking, (I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch THAT!), but AV is not impressing me either.

I could go on...

Florida. They're still early in their build. Give them more time. Basically depends on how Markstrom turns out. But they have pieces I'd kill to have on the Rangers.

Columbus. They're doing that bull**** half-rebuild the Rangers tried. You don't make a deal for Gaborik if you're on a pure rebuild.

Islanders. LOL. "They'll be better than the Rangers this year, and would have went to the ECF last year with a real goalie"

Florida was rebuilding 7 years ago when they drafted Frolik, Olesz, Horton, and Ellberby with high picks. That crop failed, and they started rebuilding again. Not even close to good example.

Columbus: Rebuilding 10 years ago too with Nash, Brule, Filatov, and Brassard. That crop didn't work, out, rebuilding again.

Islanders: No explanation needed.

Rebuilds only work with good management, half the time they cause a second rebuild years later. Not even close to surefire.

Agreed. Bring him up and see what the kid has to offer. Put DZ in Staals spot and let Mcilrath patrol the 3rd line in place of falk. Absolutely would give him a cup of coffee.

I might start betting on this team the way they gravitate towards .500. I'm with Fitzy, I think this team gets the last laugh on the Devils this year. Sure, that might only a brief playoff appearance, but...

Agreed with all of this. Although I'd substitute "Hank" for "dude."

Boyle's entire line was just plain bad. Horrible to watch, really.

Did the rest of the line lose the faceoff that lead to the winner? Boyle is just awful; Pyatt is too. Moore is on an island.

Even when I see the stat that shows that we are out hitting a team, I don't put any stock into it. A small meaningless bump accounts for 90% of those hits.

Can we please get rid of Boyle? I dont even care if we replace him with someone worse, I'm just tired of looking at him fall down, get penalties and get wrecked in fights.

Yes, and it would be hard to find someone worse.

Your also talking about 3 of the poorer teams in the NHL. That doesn't help when it is time to bring in the 'names' to play with the core

even just reading that this had to happen makes me sick...

Except it's a patent lie. Hank made a few good stops in the third period. His best save was on Richie. He got way too much credit for that win. He's not very good right now.

I'm with you there. Sucks, but I highly doubt Staal is ever close to the same player he was. Could be a blessing he got hurt( sorry) because if we dealt DZ and Staal continues to look lost and then makes it clear he is damaged goods, well screw us. I like Marc Staal. He is/was a favorite of mine. He has my full support and I really hope he makes a full recovery and returns to his high level as a top shut down defender, not only for the benefit of NYR but for him personally. Unfortunately I am having serious doubts of that ever happening... Even with his eye injury and the adjustments he has had to make, it was noticeable that he just isn't the same. Now with another head injury, I'm scared he is in jeopardy of being out of the league worst case, and bottom pairing D best case.
Rangers have some seriously horrible luck with these kind of things.
Cherepanov(rip)
Sauer
Blackburn
Staal

What's Edmonton's excuse then?

I'm not saying top draft picks aren't the path to the cup, elite talent definitely helps. But true rebuilds take a longgg time, something this market/fanbase doesn't' have patience for. Hell we can't even go 3 losses without this place blowing up.

And after investing 4-5 years in a true rebuild, you're only about 50% likely to have it work for you. It's not as easy as people make it out to be.

The more I think on it the more that I think this would be the perfect time to introduce Mcilrath. Staal goes out, DZ back in with Stralman where he played very well on his natural side. Mcilrath gets to ease in and get his feet wet. Plus he gives us that edge of fighting and a heavyweight if we need him too.
