A trusted source observed #NJDevils head coach Pete DeBoer referring to #NYR goalie Henrik Lundqvist: "8 million goalie... my ass."

Is this legit?

If it is, that's some bush league ****. Yeah, because of a few weak goals, it negates Lundqvist's consistently elite play for the last 8 years. Long before DeBoer was embarrassing himself in Florida and was still coaching in juniors, Lundqvist was the best goalie in the league then and still is now. A bad game, a few bad goals, even a bad stretch of games doesn't change that. A coach chirping a player about his contract, whether off the record or not (shouldn't be saying it around anyone who would repeat it) is extremely bush league.

Can we stop bashing our own team? The Devils got away with this one with the blown call.

Mistakes happen and Cally has done a lot for this team as well as Hank. No need to bash our players that have done a lot for this team since they have been here.

On to the next one and lets hope they rip the Caps a new one tomorrow.

You. I like you.

That brightness of yours... it will fade.

But really, this is unacceptable. This is ANOTHER loss after leading going into the 3rd period. There is some piss poor hockey being played by many of my favorite players.

AV was a terrible, terrible choice.

I don't think AV is a terrible choice. He just doesn't have a lot to work with. If the Rangers keep on going the .500 route, then a change will happen sooner or later. Someone will get traded and hopefully it'll benefit the team.

Aside from the Lundqvist bashing I don't hear a lot of criticisms that are different from last season. And AV was not the coach then. I'm very disappointed and frustrated at the loss tonight, but I don't see Av as the cause of this season's hardships.

This is the 3rd time in the last 5 games in which the Rangers blew the game in the 3rd period. And this team has the worst record in the league when they are trailing first.

This team's resiliency is a joke. It's laughable to see some fans say that this year's squad has a chance at winning a cup because the Kings did in 2012. Mental toughness, fortitude, and leadership ability are important components of a championship-caliber team, and this team is deficient in all those areas.

Essentially this. IIRC, it was 100 games that we won carrying a lead into the third. That's been blown to hell at this point.

There's not heart--that's what keeps coming up, but it's true. The best we really have is Dorsett. It doesn't seem like Cally is playing his game.

Gotta make changes because this team is going nowhere.

Eh, the Kings were playing some ****** hockey during that regular season. That said, you could have made a legitimate case as the time they were underachieving offensively. Mike Richards had a pedestrian regular season - the Rangers don't have a proven star center like that who is currently underachieving, and a center duo of Derek Stepan and Brad Richards is not comparable to a combo of Anze Kopitar and Mike Richards. They had also not acquired Jeff Carter until the deadline, and that was a huge factor in their cup run.

Maybe if Callahan, Girardi, Staal, and Hank pull their heads out of their butts, we'd start closing out some of these games.

At least we grabbed a point.

Actually that's a good point (excuse the pun). Despite how angry this game made me, they did fight back late in 3rd and managed to capitalize on the opportunity they got with the Devs penalty to tie it up with a hard working goal.

Ok we blew a lead and OT was a shambles, but we haven't even looked like tying up games until tonight, so maybe it's a small step in the right direction...

I don't really watch that many games due to the time difference but I don't think one trade is going to do much difference.

Callahan must be playing the worst hockey of his career. Despite that he gets 2 assists tonight, he was really weak, and his bad penalty in OT

That was a hell of a stick, too. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some lost teeth. It looked like Greene was pulling on one or two.

They won't trade him. You and I both know that.

Two huge, weak goals by Hank tonight. Hope Talbot gets the next game.

I can't stand this **** anymore. You people are straight up stupid. Which goal by Hank was soft tonight? The OT winner? You know, the screened lazer-beam from the point? Or was it the partial break by Michael Ryder, you know, the dude with one of the most lethal wristers in the game? Or perhaps the kicked in goal by Cam ****ing Jansen? Actually, I think that one was his weakest one considering the bad rebound he gave up. So ONE questionable goal. Big deal?

The loss this game easily came from these things: A goal that shouldn't have counted (clearly kicked in), John Moore blowing his defensive coverage on Ryder, and Callahan's (unlucky) penalty in OT.

Oh and to those saying **** like "This team didn't play to win" and the like... They actually played real *** well for most of the game. The FEW mistakes (and a goal that shouldn't have counted) were the reasons they lost. They actually played great defensively for most of the game (making sick plays out of their zone).

How about calling Callahan's penalty for what it really was...reckless, stupid and somewhat dangerous.

The result should not be surprise. The team isn't good enough. The Devils aren't a very good team. They had a brutal game on Friday night against the Wings who are the 1990's Wings either. The Rangers blew a 2-0 lead at home. They deserve to lose. The VAN game began 11 out of 12 games at home. Beat VAN. Lost to WPG. Beat Buffalo. They got one point last night. They need to get 18 out of the possible 24. They have lost 3 points of out a possible 8. They should have beaten WPG and Jersey at home last night. Those teams aren't Anaheim or Boston or LA.

Look at what Boston did last night. They were losing 2-1 at home to a team they despise, had two of their best players take headshots, and in front of their home fans, staged a rally and won.

I hate to say it, but all 4 Boston teams have a ton of pride and a sense of teamwork. Our NY teams are just a bunch of dudes getting a paycheck with no balls.

Dorsett, Kreider, MZA and McDonagh are the ONLY guys who have consistently played with intensity night in and out.

It's very frustrating to see. All the big name stars in this town are frauds who could care less about the uniform, the city or the fans. And this isn't a rant because of a 4-3 OT loss.

This city has been shortchanged by its sports teams. One can only hope it's not the precursor to a decades worth of half-assery

Is it possible to watch the complete Hockey Night Live show somewhere? Link?

Is the NHL against us? That first Devils goal should never have been allowed, he certainly "helped" the puck using his skate.

So sounds like Lundqvist is back to his 1 great game 10 mediocre hames this season. I really hope they win tonight as I'm in DC and want to talk **** to my Caps fan friend.

It's a game and it's fun to chant. When people go, they don't sit and golf clap all night.

Tonight was the loudest i've heard the garden all season. It's supposed to boost our guys to play at home. Not sound like a morgue.

Go watch bowling if you want fans to be quiet all game.

You don't know WHEN to chant. It's embararssing, and Marty owned your chanting ***** last night. You don't even know when you've been owned.

Yeah, that's right, the people chanting Marty and Potvin sucks are the ones making the "Garden experience". So glad you guys come to the games.

We have some of the dumbest fans on the planet. There is nno doubt.
