Also, I made the mistake of wandering into that main board thread. Holy shit, do Devil's fans aways whine this much after a loss? It's embarrassing.

Victim blaming and victim shaming, so hot right nowAlso, I made the mistake of wandering into that main board thread. Holy shit, do Devil's fans aways whine this much after a loss? It's embarrassing.
Yeah Carrier is the Fast replacement. That’s 1 for 1.One other thing. The role Noesen is playing in NJ is similar to the role Roslovic is playing her in Carolina except Roslovic is getting less PP time. So if one wants to make a comparison it's not Carrier vs. Noesen, it's Roslovic vs. Noesen.
Roslovic: 16G, 24P in 35 games (2 PP points)
Noesen: 16G, 26P in 39 games (10 PP points)
Roslovic is making $2.8M. Noesen is making $2.75M
That's a fair.I still say that we should have kept Noesen.
Agree.yeah the pesce contract will age poorly. Our D is suffering badly for it
Comparing it to last year's role on the team, that's fair (although I think Blake is a better compare). The other forwards have some mental gymnastics involved in who is replacing who. I think in their cap structure it’s Robinson replacing Noesen.
6 years is long, but with the cap going up his $2M will be peanuts in the out years. The actual salary is only $1.5M in the last 2 years as well.I don't have a problem losing Skeji and Pesce. Like both but they were always going to get other opportunities elsewhere and that's fine.
Noesen rocked. Hated losing him. I'm actually liking Carrier more and more but I'm not liking 6 years attached.

Yep, said the same. It's ridiculous that only KK responded to the hit, the rest of the team just kept playing as if nothing happened. Way to stick up for your star getting run, assholes. It pisses me off that KK is the only guy who really took exception to either hit, nobody on this team shows any guts. It's about time we start running goalies and throwing elbows in games like that, if refs clearly aren't going to call it we need to take advantage of the "refs aren't going to call every little thing"
Tarheelhocky had the best posts in that OP.Also, I made the mistake of wandering into that main board thread. Holy shit, do Devil's fans aways whine this much after a loss? It's embarrassing.
I know this is the narrative, but it doesn't follow the facts. It's been special teams and goaltending that have let us down the most in the playoffs the last few years, not being "taken off our game".Yep, said the same. And we wonder why teams are so easy to body us and take us off our game in the postseason. We play for the penalties, but the penalties dont come on hits anymore and we end up getting frustrated and retailiate with hacks of the stick which do get called.

I think Pesce would have stayed but that would have also required a shitload of moving pieces that we might not have been able to pull off since we were trying to hardball Guentzel.Skjei was never staying. Pesce probably wasn’t either. They are both making way more money for way more term than the canes were ever going to offer them
In a recent interview, Noesen spoke about how he appreciates the opportunity to do more (and play more) in his current role, too.Comparing it to last year's role on the team, that's fair (although I think Blake is a better compare).
My point is that Noesen wasn't going to be kept for last year's salary ($762K) and thus would not have played the same role if he stayed. We can't compare is production today vs. last year. He would have had more of the role Roslovic has today (which is what he has in NJ).
I'd argue that Blake has that role that Noesen had last year. Low salary, 4th line winger, 2nd PP unit and no PK. Robison plays the PK and has no PP time which is not the role Noesen played.
Yeah I agree. I find it funny how emotions and expectations change from missing playoffs to being contender and then sucking into failure. Rod has lost the room (again) and Aho will suck the rest of his career. I never expected progress to be linear and every signing to be successful. Winning is more fun than losing and all the feelings are understandable. Hot takes are what being a fan is all about. In the end, the Canes made the correct moves this offseason. Sure, there might've been a slight drop-off for this regular season (and still, anything can happen this postseason), but the Canes remain highly flexible in terms of cap space for years to come and now should have no issue retaining the likes of Nikishin and Necas long-term while potentially adding even more.
Hey hey hey, Orlov put it best
We don't need to be advocating making his family any smaller than it already is
Something must've gone over my head. Maybe stuff on social media I don't follow? This is really low. And not the first comment like this I’ve seen.

I’d guess the thought is it’s a shot over Haula’s wife’s miscarriage a few years ago.whats the deal with it? I dont understand
