I suspect as well that its just an announcement that the Sixers will play a few home games in Newark.
I don't think it would be that easy for the Sixers to bail on a major market and go to a market that already has two teams, not just one, I can't imagine Stern would allow that to happen.

It's common knowledge that Harris/Blitzer bought the devils so they could get their hands on the Prudential Center. The devils aren't important to them ultimately.
If the owners actually were involved with the on ice decisions enough for it to matter, it would be a bad thing, trust me.

Seriously? More funnies...the Devils and the arena were a package. The problem they have in the Sixers is it's just the team and no arena. With the Devils and Arena, it's all vertically integrated. They control the content and the arena. The reason why Vanderbeek and the Nets eventually moved as well so that ownership can control the arena as well with no landlord overseeing.
I think you downplay the Devils a bit too much, this is an example of it. You reach when the ownership combined net worth is 9 billion and yet are losing their shirts buying the Devils.
