I know all the other guys that we got are probably career minor leaguers, but does anyone have any insight on them? Any of them even have a SLIGHT chance at becoming an NHL regular? Zach Emond, the goalie I guess would be the most intriguing considering the goalie situation in the organization.

I can't think of another former beat writer that still posts about his old team regularly like TG does.

I know Gross doesn't.

TG works for the NHL and Gross does not. TG seems to always be watching random sporting events and tweeting about them when he's not actively covering the Caps.

I don't think so. Hatakka appears to have been hurt most of the year, and the other two players are not playing in the AHL this year and this is the final year of their ELCs.

Can a mod post the full details of the trade in the OP? It has been finalized but I am still hazy on the details of all the random AHL dudes coming over from the Sharks.

Dang two firsts and Mukhamadullin? That's essentially 3 first round picks as well as a roster player in Zetterlund who was looking promising.

Meier better be that good because we paid a pretty steep price for him.
What’s not a steep price then?

Late 1sts aren’t that exciting, a number of rentals get them every year.

Vancouver jumped on Islanders’ offer for Horvat mainly because they knew that was very likely the best 1st they could get.

DeBrincat got a 2022 #7 & 2022 #39 (and a 2024 3rd). The #7 part is a pretty unique offer.

This is something we hope will be a long term piece.
