We could go stat geek and talk about xGF, but Hughes has one of the worst on the team in the last 20.

Since Jan 1st, Hughes is 12th out of 24 skaters with a 48.33 xGF% at 5v5. McLeod is 17th with 47.17%.

To keep this on topic, I think Hughes will be the one to benefit from Meier the most, even if Meier ends up on Hischier's line (which I think is the right call). There hasn't been a ton of line consistency this season, and I think that's a big reason why our 21yo hotshot tries to do so much on his own. Meier should really help shore up the top two lines.

well there are multiple people rumored to be in the trade that are injured (including Timo himself, though it isn’t him) before we get to Blackwood.

If Timo was injured, I don't think we would let that stand in the way unless it was career changing.....it could be his Harrington kid.

But it could be us wanting to go with Schmid as backup too. And we could be send 4 pieces back too since they're sending 2.

I don't think you touch the Nico line and move him with Bratt and Hughes and move Sharangovich to the Haula/Palat line so they have a shooter. Then Boqvist can play instead of Wood if needed.

That is perhaps the hang up. If we can't send him down right away, because he's injured, then maybe it's pushing us over the cap.
