I don't think he is a minor one. I am sure if he is in the trade he would be considered a major piece. But is he really a major piece anymore?
Since Jan 1st, Hughes is 12th out of 24 skaters with a 48.33 xGF% at 5v5. McLeod is 17th with 47.17%.We could go stat geek and talk about xGF, but Hughes has one of the worst on the team in the last 20.
We only care cause we want this doggone thing over with alreadyIf it's not a major piece why does anyone care?

If Timo was injured, I don't think we would let that stand in the way unless it was career changing.....it could be his Harrington kid.well there are multiple people rumored to be in the trade that are injured (including Timo himself, though it isn’t him) before we get to Blackwood.
Tank CommanderWhat’s so major about a mediocre at best and often injured goalie?
We're getting crossed up, I misread the text, I thought they said something else.I don't think he is a minor one. I am sure if he is in the trade he would be considered a major piece.
I mean the teams ... Why is it an issue? Unless it has an implication (IR/LTIR) that would cause someone to not to be cap/contract compliant? We only care cause we want this doggone thing over with already
I don't think you touch the Nico line and move him with Bratt and Hughes and move Sharangovich to the Haula/Palat line so they have a shooter. Then Boqvist can play instead of Wood if needed.Since Jan 1st, Hughes is 12th out of 24 skaters with a 48.33 xGF% at 5v5. McLeod is 17th with 47.17%.
To keep this on topic, I think Hughes will be the one to benefit from Meier the most, even if Meier ends up on Hischier's line (which I think is the right call). There hasn't been a ton of line consistency this season, and I think that's a big reason why our 21yo hotshot tries to do so much on his own. Meier should really help shore up the top two lines.
That is perhaps the hang up. If we can't send him down right away, because he's injured, then maybe it's pushing us over the cap.If it’s Harrington… wouldn’t him being injured mean he couldn’t be sent down and then there’d be cap issues?
