Didn't see the whole thing, but I liked Parent's game - he feels like he's in the spot where he goes to 3 dev camps this summer but the Devils could use a player like this
Feels nice to see Devils' goalies getting lit up in July. Just feels right
the Q, but he intends to go to universityWhere did Parent come from?
First thing I thought lol.Ohhhh the ol' Parise move, love it!
devlin that good eh?Parent, Oden, and Devlin imo have all earned contracts at least for the AHL.
I meant how did he get in the system, or is he not yet? He's been impressive.the Q, but he intends to go to university
(unless we give him a contract of sorts?)
camp invite!I meant how did he get in the system, or is he not yet? He's been impressive.
probably gonna be more like a Joe Whitney replacementParent is 5'8. There's our Gaudreau replacement.

i was gonna make that argument too -- same w oden, who's 22 and was 0.5PPG w Ilves. But some of our kids are older prospects too, and they're going to the AHL. Can't hurt to bring these guys in as AHL depth, no? Plus Parent isn't a slouch - 4th in QMJHL scoring last seasonHe's 21. He should look good compared to the rest although I'm not sure I agree he's been that impressive.
Also, Holtz still has the IQ of a pebble.
The only thing I really took away from this is that Salminen is a better skater than advertised. Can't really take much away from a scrimmage, but Nemec was so far and away the best player on the ice at all points. Looked great and there's no doubt he will get a shot at 3rd pairing rd.
Stillman looked much improved from the OHL. High energy and making things happen all over the ice. I liked seeing that a lot out of him.

Wouldn’t worry too much about this. His skating is a concern for me but he looked better towards the end of the scrimmage when they needed a goal and I don’t think he was going 100% which is understandable.Very small sample size but I think Holtz can make a career out of playing with Jack at the very least but I'm not so sure much past that unfortunately. Hopefully this was just still a warmup for him.
I mean its not really that small of a sample size. He's had this brain ever since his draft year and hasn't shown nearly enough improvement in his hockey sense. Small sample size, but today is just more of what we've seen. He is really skilled with an elite shot, but there's more to hockey than that.Very small sample size but I think Holtz can make a career out of playing with Jack at the very least but I'm not so sure much past that unfortunately. Hopefully this was just still a warmup for him.
Completely forgot to mention this. Salminen's skating looked improved. He has gotten a little faster and I think that's because his technique has looked much, much better than it did his draft year. Still has quite a ways to go to get to NHL level but I was happy to at least see somewhat of an improvement from him.The only thing I really took away from this is that Salminen is a better skater than advertised.
