I don't have the DZ start isolated numbers but Nico sees his defensive numbers improve across the board when he's away from Zacha and Zacha takes a hit (outside of HDCA). away from Nico. They have both been better this year together rather than apart but Nico still has respectable numbers away from Zacha at least. Can't say the same the other way. Judging off of zone starts it seems when Nico is away from Zacha they're using him in a defensive role oriented role. Whike Zacha doesn't see his type of usage change much. It's neutral with Nico and a slightly more offensively oriented away from Nico.

Holy shit! I haven't seen or heard that name in years, but I was always fascinated by the name Shjon and would always pronounce it ''Shhjohn'' in my head haha.

As I remember it, one of his parents wanted Shean/Sean and the other wanted John so Shjon was the compromise.

They did have J.P. Parise at the signing, so I have autographed picture somewhere. Mikael Granlund was there signing stuff and his brother Markus was nearby since it was his draft year. He seemed a little surprised somebody recognized him as I wished him luck.

Jack is just as deserving IMO and always had a better chance with his name and high profile. Has produced better than Bratt but obviously not for as long of a stretch.

I want to try moving Bastian up to the 3rd line. Have him replace Kuokkanen. I think he can play a much more important role there. Ideally when fully healthy we should look like

Zacha(hopefully traded)-Nico-Tatar
Johnsson-Mercer-Bastian
Wood-McLeod-Kuokkanen/Vesey

I mean you could argue Hughes may have been the points leader anyway if he was healthy the whole season since he's just over a PPG and Bratt's slightly under it. At the very least it would have been super close.

Of course we could "argue" that since we argue about everything else in general around here.

But Hughes was voted in due to Marketing mostly as the NHL Casual kind of knows who he is.

Hughes was actually on the ballot. I think you had to write Bratt in

The Ballot is more about who is Marketable.

Are you thinking of the clean check on Vesey instead? Where we got a well deserved instigator/roughing penalty. The hit in question resulted in a Devils PP, should have been a major tho.
