Agreed, which is why it would be huge for Shero to try to get him locked up this summer.

6 years, 6.5 million AAV? Hischier will get to UFA at age 27, while the Devils get 6 years of him at a very team friendly contract.

I agree, I think Detroit will look very good in a couple of years for this pick.

I would think that if Hall signs long-term with NJ, he will be named the C for next season.
It would have to be 2020-2021. I don't see them taking captaincy away from Greene while he's still on the team.

Based on their careers to date, Wood is better Zacha. I don't see anyway you can argue otherwise.

I'm sick of the argument, Zacha's last 20 games of last season were good. Well what happened to his first 60 games! How can you not take that into account. Career high of 25 points.

I mean, they've played basically the same amount of games (Zacha has played one more) and Zacha has 3 more points

However Zacha is so much better defensively, it isn't even close

I'm not really sure what you're watching.

Remember how Colorado traded Ryan O'Reilly because he was a bad leader?

And then Buffalo traded Ryan O'Reilly three years later because he was a bad leader?

And then he won the Conn Smythe 11 months later?

Leadership has nothing to do with talent or on-ice team success. This isn't a movie where your captain gives an epic motivational speech and then you go out and beat the Soviets.

If you have a ****ty team you're going to get ****ty results, even if you have Messier or Stevens or Yzerman or any other great famously strong leader.

Edmonton has been a tire fire from top to bottom for over a decade, I really don't give the slightest of ****s about what happened on any of those teams.

one would say edmonton is lacking a yzerman stevens or messier
