Acquiring both Kane and Tarasenko made absolutely no sense. That's not Monday morning quarterbacking either. It was obvious to any logical Rangers fan. 90% of our fanbase jedi mind tricked themselves into believing it was the right approach even when they knew it wasn't. The team actually got worse with those two additions.

Forcing Kane onto PP1 just because he has the name recognition and is friends with Panarin has been a complete disaster. Panarin/Kane/Zibanejad on one PP unit never made sense in theory and it hasn't worked in practice but the organization will continue to pound square pegs into round holes because they're afraid one day they may wake up and the next over the hill superstar with a big last name won't demand a trade here if we don't keep Kane happy for another few days.

Lafreniere and Kakko are just disasters. Lafreniere looks like a complete scrub.

The one thing the Rangers have not done whatsoever is make this new netminder’s life miserable. The Rangers NEED to crash the net and dig for pucks. Bump the goalie and initiate some body every play and let him know we are there. This perimeter game because we supposedly have the best goal scorers isn’t working. Get to the net and cause a ruckus. The problem is will the players that play forward the most do it?

You can't win with a team of vegetarians and poets. We need meat eaters that will do 80 in a school zone and punch people in the face at clubs with poor lighting when they turn off the light before the beat drops. Not Kreider cosplaying edgar allan poe while playing the piano or Zibanejad skimming the whole foods hand squeezed almond milk selection and apologizing to women for blocking their view of display. This team cannot handle adversity. Only the good vibes when things are going right. Gorton identified and selected some of the softest and most pacifist players possible for this rebuild and we are stuck with them. Drury tried to bring in a few guys that are willing to battle but you can't expect the complimentary players to get the core players to become battlers.
