My take on playoff wins is that not a single one is guaranteed, so enjoy each win as a singular, isolated event. These things are expensive if you go to them, and have a ton of meaning regardless. So celebrate each one, even if we are down 3-0 and we get that one win to not be swept. It's why we are fans.

I’m from NJ and everyone I grew up with is a devils fan, aside from like 4-5 people. That makes it worse.

I was way more zen against Carolina last year because I hate Pittsburgh that much. Same thing.

Great game one. Had those early kills, Devils were clearly a bit nervous and we took advantage. They will most likely come out on fire next game so going to need to ready from the get go.

Defending overall was pretty good, nice and tight. Puck management is the key to the Rangers this series, they did a good job basically all game until Miller had the worst and most obvious bad play turnover I've ever seen. That late in the game, what are you doing with that pass - let alone with Hughes literally right there? That puck needs to just be down the wall, Miller needs to be better than that. He also had that stretch in the second where he iced the puck 3 straight times off of clean face-off wins because he kept misfiring his pass. Those and the high stick, was a rough night for Key.

Igor was great, Fox was fantastic - him and Lindgren need to always be out there with Hughes, Kreider all time Rangers playoff goal leader.

It's important to close out these series early if we're looking for a long run.

We ran out of gas against Tampa. Tampa ran out of gas against Colorado. Being fresh is a massive advantage

I agree with the sentiment the Rangers did a lot of great things defensively when NJ had the puck in the offensive zone. Had no problems with that for the most part. But man they have to be smarter with the puck, too many unforced turnovers, throwing pucks away when they have possession. They have to clean that up. It's hard to be perfect defensively when you are on your heels. They did it tonight, they won't get away with it 3 more times.

That was a very good playoff game. We looked like a team that had a plan, executed it for the most part, and didn't panic when we couldn't.
Team defence was excellent and the PK was outstanding. Shesty was big when he needed to be.
