Had to have a 4th goalie... Figured there would be one just had absolutely no clue who it would be. Sort of surprising that it's the other goalie from Barrie. Sounds like DL is doing Hawerchuk a favor by inviting Fotinos.

Mike Futa is very connected with the Colts so it's not all that surprising. I believe he was the GM there before or something but I definitely know he's close to that team.

Too bad it appears that Hudson Fasching isn't attending! Anyone know why?

(yes, I know he's committed to U of Minn and would have to pay, but is that
why?)

Not exactly sure why Toffoli was invited. This guy is head and shoulders above every other invitee.

Only one year as a pro, partially with the big club. Standard practice with the Kings. Continued strength and conditioning training, fundamentals, etc. Only concern would be getting injured. I think everyone is confident he will make the big club full time this coming season.

Niederberger is an excellent goalie. I'm sure he'll get a long look with Gibson leaving the organization.

Futa was the GM in Owen Sound a number of years, was an assistant GM in Oshawa, and Toronto St. Michaels. Strong OHL connections sure but to my knowledge none to Barrie. Then again I don't follow coaches moving around in the CHL much so he may have some there now. I know his first few years in LA there was a ton of guys from St. Sault Marie, and Owen Sound that got invites to camps due to Futa knowing people there, possible a few have moved on and are in Barrie now I guess.

Do we know the days

July 7th through the 12th is what I've seen reported.

Do you think Sabourin earns a contract?

Sabourin is supposedly in the same boat that Niederberger is in. Signed by the Monarchs to stay in the Kings org but not take up one of the 50 contracts. He signed a 2 year contract with the Monarchs after his Junior season ended.

I went by the Toyota Sports Center ( #310-535-4400 ) and they said the "prospects" had the Olympic Ice scheduled for 4:15 pm today ( 07-06-13 ),,,,,,, I am going back later to check it out.

The 4:15 pm ice time at TSC today ended up being a couple of coaches working with #70 Tanner Pearson and #56 Kurtis MacDermid on skating/puck drills. It looked like they were focusing on edge work and balance. I took a couple of videos but haven't been able to figure out how to upload them yet ( video is not my thing )......

I am going to call TSC in the morning and see if the prospects have more ice time scheduled because I can't go during the week.

Noticed former prospect Gibson invited to Toronto prospect camp. Is this the camp that ends up usually in a scrimmage type game?

I went down to TSC this morning to try and catch the prospects on the ice and Dean Lombardi was there. He was watching the prospects practice. I spoke with him briefly and shook his hand. He is on top of everything King's hockey related. It was awesome meeting him.....:handclap: :handclap: :handclap:

Did you call him an idiot for not drafting Anton Slepyshev? Cause I would've. :sarcasm:

Yeah, he's always been great and easy to talk to. Last year he approached me, my fiance, and another friend and asked us what we thought; just struck up a conversation out of the blue.

Glad you had a good experience with him!
