At the camp right now, here are some thoughts..

Connor Brown is insanely fast and good hands, if he can work on his agility and shot as well as get bigger he would be a seriously good prospect.

Cameranesi looks dynamite, very fast and shifty with a great release. The defense are having a hard time containing him.

Macwilliam looks like he could be a top 4 D on the married.

Nillson looks terrible.

Percy is head and shoulders above everyone on the ice. (Rielly, Gauthier, Biggs haven't skated yet.)

Keep the updates coming.

It's open, and I'll comment on Granberg when he's out.

Currently Gauthier, Rielly, and Toninato are working with Underhill.

I'm sort of expecting Underhill to just give her whistle to Rielly and let him teach.

Yep. He has VERY solid hockey IQ. Which is why I think he has a higher ceiling than a lot of people give him credit for. It's not the type of play people will really notice much at the CHL level, where people are obsessed with skill and/or dominating physical play.

He's been very solid at the AHL level in his short stints so far. I like his trajectory so far.

It does seem decent indeed. My issue is, the other players in the NHL will also have high IQ's, so it will be important for him to adapt his IQ and his toolset to still be able to play his game efficiently. Not that I dont think he can, just that I want to see more of him.

When I watched him in MJ I drew a lot of offensive comparisons to Yandle. Smart when he pinches, loves to attack defenders, good shot (probably not as nice as Yandles), and good speed.

Rielly will probably be better defensively though.

That kind of sucks about Nilsson. I guess he has a lot of adjusting to do in terms of the smaller ice and speed of the NA game.

Are we talking about Rielly?

Should the discussion be how long does it take for a top 5 pick defenseman to make the NHL?

Comparing 20th. or 80th. or 200th. picks to a top 5 pick doesn't target the right sample.

After you're drafted, I don't really put much (read: any) stock into your position. The discussion was 20 year old NHL defenseman.

To be clear Gauthier is having trouble with the mechanics drills. His speed is good.

It's also his first time with Underhill, the other 2 guys have skated with her before.

No worries guys.

Gauthier looks to be having a bit of trouble with the drills, he's trying hard though

Yeah he's lateral mobility/agility isn't fantastic and his stride is a little...awkward? but he's got good speed and covers ground quickly north/south.

I know you're being sarcastic but calling him dumb is pretty unnecessary. He's doing drills at the pro level which he's for sure just getting accustomed to.

I bet he's one of the players who really surprise during the prospect games with his size and hustle.

I would agree with this.. looks a little awkward on skates, could be because of his growth spurt.
