Selfishly, I hope he misses tomorrow too. It forces the team to step up and continue to drive play without relying on Matthews, we saw it with the PP last game or how Marner looked without him. I'm hoping it will open up Berube to the idea of splitting them up.

Speaking of HoF games, my first ever Leafs game was 11 years ago today, Leafs vs Devils. Ironically, that was Brendan Shanahan's HHoF induction class, and he was part of the pre-game ceremony. Got the tickets from our very own @ACC1224, paid $160 for the pair, don't think that will ever happen again

The game was mostly boring tbh, a low-event affair that was 0-0 until late into the third period, where Kessel scored this beauty:



Of course, shortly after Bernier let in a garbage softie, then the game went to a shootout where we won.

In his only career start against the Red Wings — and his second career start in the National Hockey League — Stolarz posted a 28-save shutout for the Philadelphia Flyers on Dec. 11, 2016 … Cam Talbot gets the call in goal for Detroit. He’s 6-3-1 in 12 career games against the Leafs with a .917 save percentage. Toronto gave up just 14 shots on goal at five-on-five, equalling its fewest against (done twice previously) in a game in 2024-25 … Considering he has 28 points (14 goals and 14 assists) in 24 career games against the Wings, it stands to reason that Mitch Marner will extend his point streak to seven games.
