Well our buddy "Petes" threw a grenade into the future of Detroit coversation early this morning.

Should spicen things up around here.

Don’t see any Pete’s in this thread today.
Sorry didn't have to time to elaborate, (and still really don't at the moment). He posted on Wings board (about defensement) mentioning possibilty of Devallano retiring, SY moving up and Draper takin on GM.

Thie first 2 pieces of that have always been a matter of time, the last part being Draper as GM is the grenade. It is not an outright prediction, just mentioned a possibility along with poetnetial of Wings "going young up front" next year. I.e. entering the McKenna sweepstakes.

A lot of it makes for interesting discussion, but personally I want no part of Draper as GM at this point. A lot of people think some of us blindly follow SY, but the fact is he had a very good track record in Tampa.

I didn't think it was right when Mike Illitch asked Holland to move upstairs to make way for SY, when Jim Nill was sitting righ there. Wasn't sure how it would go in Tampa for him and it is was a different situation for sure bet he did great once he got there.

Oh Christ no.

He’s glad they missed the playoffs by a point, so they could draft 16th instead of 17th?

It’s ok to say he’s doing a good job drafting and developing but the late season collapses have been disappointing

There's this pesky little thing called "lottery". Look it up. Wings have been screwed out of the lottery since, what 2018? They are due for some favorable luck.

lol I still see 2, U23 players,
maybe have a third try. Appears you don’t seem to realize U23, doesn’t include 23. That’s why it’s 2.

Here is what you said,
Majority of Wings core is under 23 (6 NHL roster players under 23). In comparison, most of Senators core is over 24.

23 and under, hoss. I didn't mean U23,

I fixed the post.
