If people wonder why teams go with vets, it’s because of guys like LalondeGood reminder that some coaches are really, really bad.

Their powerplay is 2nd place in the league at 28.6% and much higher than that over the last 7 games. Why aren't they bringing ASP over right now? Guy is at least in same ball park as Hutson in Montreal. Not saying he is as good but close enough to help Detroit's 2\3 pair, PP and act as depth if 53\77 are injured.
I know, its like close to 50% last few games but they can use him on PP2 and he would provide depth in case Seider gets injured. ASP walks the blue line right now better than most NHL Dmen that get PP time.Their powerplay is 2nd place in the league at 28.6% and much higher than that over the last 7 games.

"Pretty sure", I won't waste my time taking challenges from you.You should spend less time trying to justify why they should pluck ASP out of the SHL mid-season and more time figuring out if they're even allowed to...
... Still waiting on that massive list of players who have left the SHL mid-season to join their NHL clubs,

No wait unlike you, absolutely sure.
Bruv, you had no idea that rule exists, yet you mock the guy who does. On a hockey nerd site lol.Lol, pretty sure?
Wtf is going on here. Why are you so upset?"Pretty sure", I won't waste my time taking challenges from you.

Red Wings have been winning lately.Wtf is going on here. Why are you so upset?

According to the NHL/SHL transfer agreement a player has to opt out of his current contract with a SHL club at the latest on the 15th of June or be released by the club to play in the NHL. Skelfteå would never do that voluntary, he's one of their most important players. You should spend less time trying to justify why they should pluck ASP out of the SHL mid-season and more time figuring out if they're even allowed to...

That was due to the Covid shortened season, the plan and arrangement with Rögle was always that he would play for Vancouver if he made it out of the training camp. They CAN do it. ASP is listed as on loan to his SHL team. There is precedent; Nils Hoglander was taken from Rogle in 2020-21 mid season while signed and on loan.
I personally don't think they should do it. ASP is the #1 guy in Skelleftea and the top performing defender in the league. Let him cook. When Skelleftea is out of the playoffs then bring him over for a taste at the end of the season.
Surprised it took so long for someone to figure Debrincat plays his best with Kane.
I mean it not like there wasn't seasons of history to go by lol...
Like the Mendoza line in baseball, there'll be a McLellan line for hockey coaches. Exceed this or you're out!If McLellan pulls this off and the Wings make the playoffs, the average lifespan of league coaches in 2025-2026 will be three weeks.
Stop it. The SHL is not some farm league for the NHL, and a hockey fan should know this"Pretty sure", I won't waste my time taking challenges from you.

The only way he could go to the NHL at this point in the season is if he himself wants to leave his SHL team. And he don't. He wants to stay and try to win a second Swedish Championship. Why aren't they bringing ASP over right now? Guy is at least in same ball park as Hutson in Montreal.
