He was playing with Kane plenty under Lalonde. Lines weren’t the problem. The entire horrific system was.
They've played together in the past, it didn't work. Kane is getting back on track but Debrincat has been really good all season.
I know he's had a couple 40 goal seasons but right now he's on pace to have the best season of his career. Engaged all over the ice, making plays, not going hot and cold..... he's been awesome
We, as Wings fans, should appreciate that a thread like this exists. We made the playoffs for 25 straight years, made 6 Stanley Cup finals appearances and won 4 cups in an 11 year span during that streak. We torched so many teams, a lot of salty fans from those years, they never forget lol. So this thread is in fact a tribute to the Red Wings, since this thread wouldn’t exist if our team wasn’t so dominant and great during those years.

Why aren't they bringing ASP over right now? Guy is at least in same ball park as Hutson in Montreal. Not saying he is as good but close enough to help Detroit's 2\3 pair, PP and act as depth if 53\77 are injured.
They already have elite offensive d-man Erik Gustafsson on deck

If McLellan pulls this off and the Wings make the playoffs, the average lifespan of league coaches in 2025-2026 will be three weeks.
Pretty sure the NHL's agreement with the SHL doesn't allow you to just yank players mid-season.
This, Same reason why the covid year Mo went to the SHL and was stuck there for the duration when he could have easily played in the NHL. They didn't have a timeline so sent him someplace that did and the price was not getting him back till after the SHL season was done.
You're welcome to provide a list of all the SHL players who have been been plucked from the league mid-season.
I can tell you for a fact that when Detroit sent Seider to the SHL in 2021 it was under the agreement that he was not allowed to return to the NHL or AHL until the SHL season was over.
