Your opinion seems biased. I didn't write the NHL.com rankings, nor do I think the NHL.com staff that ranked each player are DRWs fans.

I promise you I watch Stutzle more than any poster spewing nonsense in this thread watch Yzerman and the Wings, or follow DRWs prospect pool.

That being said, what would it take to pry Nick Jensen away so he can come back to Detroit? We can offer you a better goalie than Ullmark.

I mean that list has your boy under both 'the slumping' Elias Pettersson and 'on the wrong side of his prime' Crosby. If that is the source you want to cite, then I don't think it paints the picture you're trying to portray.

Your source also puts a bunch of players a tier or multi tiers ahead of Stutzle. It has Stuzle at "Tier 5", while Thompson, Hintz, Eichel, Aho, Pettersson, Point all a tier or multi tiers above your guy!

Even their write up on Tim Stutzle was far from glowing. Anyways, thanks for the source. After reading it it makes perfect sense why that Jfresh [LOL!] author is so critical. - It's really hard to take a website seriously with the anonymous author's name "Jfresh"

EDIT: I guess the source I posted has each player all around the same slots, except it has Larkin above Stutzle, and your source written by author: Jfresh [really? LOL!] a site I never heard of before has Stutzle up a few slots.

Meh. Seems desperate.

Your welcome, Larkin the tier behind him
For U23 he’s tier 1

Classic goal post moving answer. One guy cites an article that says your guy isn't as good, your response: Ya but he is behind so and so and so and so! Jeez, obfuscate much?

Purposely left out last season where they had 91pte and missed the post season by 1pt

I wonder why?
Congrats on almost making the playoffs?

Which could be said as "progress" if the team had gotten better this year, they look like more of the same which is an ok team with some solid-good pieces.

The problem is how are they going to get A LOT better going forward because that is ultimately the goal, not to contend for a playoff spot, but to contend for a cup and they are still extremely far from that.

Philosophically they are done bottoming out, but this team doesn't have the talent to contend for a cup. So that calls into question the Yzerplan. All bad teams will acquire some decent talent to lift them eventually, but for 5.5 years is what Yzerman has done enough? Well it's not enough to contend for a cup (and 5 years isn't exactly no time like 1-3 years), it's barely enough to contend for a playoff spot, but anybody can do that.

Problems for the Wings:
Relying on a 37 year old goalie to carry them
Have a bunch of good pieces but no great obvious game breakers and overall not much depth
Due to the above the team is ok, but not great which brings into question the veteran signings and acquisitions
No longer trying to acquire the best prospects by bottoming out thus putting pressure on what is there and what they have coming to overperform
Due to the above you're left with the question of what exactly to do considering the team is extremely far from the cup, but they don't want to bottom out and create a "losing culture" and get more really top end prospects

For me Yzerman gets a C, not awful, but not great either. Ultimately I'm not sure what his direction is and it seems he still needs 1 massive piece or two really good pieces to contend for a cup (never mind you're going to need to replace Talbot in a year or two most likely) and those pieces most of the time come from the draft, so in order to be optimistic you need to think that unproven prospects will become superstars or guys that are good will somehow become great, both of which are not all that likely.

Ultimately we will see what happens this year and the following, but it's not looking good for Yzerman.

The wings aren’t relying on a 37uo goalie. Hes a stop gap while they have two of the top G prospects in the world getting ready.

The prospects don’t need to become superstars, just good players to fill out the rest of the roster.

The 1st line and the top pair are set.

He is the starter, they are relying on him, if he was playing .900 level, this team could literally be the worst in the league. There's no guarantee with prospects.

This team as is isn't a playoff team let alone a contender for the cup, if no major changes happen, that won't change either.

And if they don't improve, not sure how anyone expects the team to get better.

“Prospects aren’t a guarantee”

Okay so every single rebuilding team has no hope? Only who’s on the roster right now matters?
