The team just never finished quite bad enough to ever draft truly elite young talent, the kind who can actually drive a team to the playoffs. Ending up with a group of good, but not star level talent just isn't enough.

Wings fans have also overestimated just how many of their prospects would reach their ceilings (few players ever truly do).

Yzerman is a decent GM, but not a miracle worker.

And the team has been stuck in a rough division with four teams consistently better than the bottom 4.
Have you heard of this thing called 'THE DRAFT LOTTERY'?

Tarasenko must perform more.

Tarasenko is mediocre so far.
Tarasenko is on a milk carton - as is most of this team...Until Lalonde is gone this team will continue to be a bag of dried cat turds.

The Wings overachieving last season should be a feather in Lalonde's cap.

He got a lot out of a roster with little talent. Don't know if that will happen again two seasons in a row.
Lalonde is horrible...90% of us Red Wings fans will tell you the same...Those 10% that disagree spend too much time in the legal cannabis shops throughout the metro Detroit area.

Selling Holland's young assets turned into ASP, Debrincat, Cossa, and Buchelnikov. It's shocking how little value Yzerman has brought in.

Yzerman did alright with picking players with extremely high NHLe and overagers but terribly otherwise, now he's not even picking players with high NHLe.

Failing to see how turning Tyler Bertuzzi, who didn't want to resign, into Debrincat, was a bad move. And considering how Cossa and Buchelnikov are developing, I'll take that over Mantha's Jekyll and Hyde effort level on a shitty team.

This is the second time now that you've tried bringing up Holland with some sort of reverence, after already being told once that his drafting was absolute shit from 2015-2023.

Nine years of drafts and after Hronek the best three picks under Holland are Dylan Holloway, Phillip Broberg, and Michael Rasmussen. When Joe Veleno rounds out your top 5 draftees in a 9 year period, you've done a shit job.
