Veleno for Quinn as a change of scenery trade?

Probably favors Detroit too much but its hard to imagine something of greater significance between these two teams

No thx. Quinn more value for us, than Veleno. I saw some rumors about Rasmussen, I have no idea where they came from, or maybe our AGM was even looking at Philly players.

Rasmussen is frustrating as f***. One of those guys where you feel like there's another level to his game, but he's never reached it. And now he's 25 and you start coming to grips with the fact that he probably never will.

Did you expect him to be a big, physical top 6 forward for you? I just see him more as a third line for us to replace Greenway who got injured, I don't know if Rasmussen would be a good fit for that role.

I wonder if something like Rass + wallinder + 3rd rounder would be enough to get Byram
It doesn't look very attractive, although I don't know much about Wallinder. Byram is still a pretty important player in our line up and we could look for a replacement for Greenway elsewhere without giving up on Byram.

No need to wonder that's awful for Buffalo. Byram is playing 23 minutes a night for them. Not a single one of those pieces moves the needle for them.
Rass is a big solid 3rd line type guy that can be hard to play against, NHL teams will value a guy like Rass. Wallinder is a fairly highly regarded almost NHL ready prospect. I would probably say a 2nd rounder makes this deal look better.

Yes it went from just a turd to a turd in between a hamburger bun.

So your offer centers around a 3rd liner and a good defensive prospect for a defenseman playing top pairing minutes (and doing pretty well) who's also in his prime. That's terrible. You'd be outbid by half the league if Byram were put on the block.

So we have to trade our 1RD for a third liner and a defensive prospect, which we also have quite a few of. That's just bad for us.

Ask yourself if you would trade Edvinsson for that package...

Byram isn't as good as Edvinsson, but that package doesn't get you close to Edvinsson. So it's not like it's a whole lot better for Byram.
