There’s really no reason to give him a contract at all. He will likely get more PTO offers than anything else. If he makes a team, great for him.. If not, back to Europe for a long time. That way nobody has to terminate a contract again. I’ll guess Edmonton.

This doesnt seem financially sound but he needs to do what makes him happy
The only thing he would be guaranteed is the $1.83 mill in salary this season, then like $900K on a buyout in June 2024 if he doesn't play well or is spending most of the year in the A.

So, that's around $2.7 mill that he would for sure be giving up.

Gamble of short term loss for long term gain.

Do we finally get to see “Future Considerations” from a trade???

Kenny drafted him… if I had to wager, I’d say the Oilers. He’s the one guy who’s shown the most respect for Zadina… in Zadina’s mind..

And Zadina would not take it.

The guy is terminating his contract with Detroit because he doesn't want to be in the AHL.

He's either going to be in the NHL, back in Europe, or some combination of the two.
Fair.

And to clarify, my goal would be to get him in the lineup asap. Just a couple of sagging vet forwards gumming up the works.

He's not a good enough skater to hang with that team.

My guess is Ottawa or Vancouver. Both teams need help lower in the lineup.
Boeser, Kuzmenko, Garland, Podkolzin...

Yeah, the guy that just left $4m of his money on the table doesn't seem like the kind of guy who'd see that as a favorable opportunity. Especially when Kravtsov just passed through there with very little fanfare.

If I'm him I'm looking for a good team with good center depth and maybe not enough cap room to afford a strong group of supporting wingers. He needs a place where he can produce offense play a game that caters to his strengths.
