I am uber curious to see how we look on the road @ MSG. I'm not expecting such a crazy discrepancy like with Boston. But the games have also been really tight, so that could easily be the difference in a one goal game.

We'll see what Canes show up in NYC.

ETA: @MrazeksVengeance-- thank you for continuing to lead us down THE PATH OF VENGEANCE.
Honestly I think we’re gonna blow them out in game 3 and/or game 4. Igor may steal one and if so we close it out easily at home. We’re a much better team than them and they don’t have answers for us.

trying to insulate myself from any regret come road games where we don't have the final change, because depending upon what matchup the Rags take line vs. line, they're going to do everything in their power to pull the Staal line away from their top guns. I think if you had to ask RBA, the lack of preparation for that was a problem last series.

The problem with Boston, is that Bergeron line can shut down Aho line AND score on the Aho line.

That's pretty unique in the NHL for that to be true.

Again, for the zillionth time: the league needs a best "defensive defenseman" award, because the fact that Slavin will never be seriously considered for a Norris is criminal.

Another testament to Slavin, is that he never leaves that conversation. Seems like "Best shutdown Dman" has guys dropping out of it routinely. Wasn't Hampus Lindholm supposed to be that guy at some point? Or TJ Brodie? Or Giordano, or Vlasic, or etc... But Slavin always is there dominating in his own zone every year.

Lack of scoring is.... concerning. I get we are 2 defensive style teams but, I feel like we are narrowly winning games we should dominate going into NY. And it's not Shesterkin. It's us.
We dominated last night....all night....and we did it with a focus on defense. There really wasn't much of any high danger opportunities from the Rangers....and we just kept pouring it on. The fact that it wasn't 4 - 0 is more of a testament to their defense than to the game being close. It was close in score only.
Last night was about as dominant a 1-0 (minus ENG) win as you can have.

I'm not worried at all when it comes to Turbo-Aho-Jarvis matching up against the Zibanejad/Kreider/whomever line. With Turbo on that line, the defensive acumen is ramped up.

Don't mean to sound negative but to me Carolina has not played the same on the road than they have at home these playoffs and that is what worries me; that a team with 25 road wins can not win a road game.

Maybe, just MAYBE it was because it was Boston and Boston has given us nightmares in past playoffs and they've been the best team in the NHL since Jan 1st and Boston is just good at home in the playoffs.

I would love to see a blow out don't get me wrong but this series to this point is not trending that way. Two very tightly played defensive games and to this point Raanta has out played Shesterkin. I would not be surprised if these games at MSG are tightly played as well. I just hope the Canes win at least one on the road here because they can't keep relying on home ice.

So, I would not be surprised if we see more 2-1 games or 2-0 type games in MSG as well; although it would not hurt if Carolina scores 4 goals like they have both times in MSG this season.

We can only hope.

Yep. The Perfection Line is on the short list for the best line in hockey. I don’t see a Zibanejad line shutting down Aho in the same way, more “strength on strength” instead of Staal taking them out of the game. Aho will have to show up, no doubt, but it’s not the same story.
