Roster moves with @monstershockey: G Sami Aittokallio has been recalled, RW Dennis Everberg has been reassigned.

Such a BS move. Are you scared to lose a guy like Cliche on waivers? Dont be. McLeod could easily go down as well. Not a soul would that Cody when he is on 4 years term. And if someone takes him? Thank the lord.

Everberg ended up on the 4th line last night. Absolutely waste for a player like him. Everberg needs ice time to grow his game. I wish he could stay up but this is for the best.

And that was an awful decision too by Roy. There are about 5 forwards more worthy to get sent down and get demoted to the 4th line. And if someone would actually snatch McLeod, Briere or Cliche from us. Thank them.

That move actually makes the most sense AND it is a great sign. It means that Berra isn't going on IR and they had to send somebody down to bring Sami back up. They are leaving the door open for Berra to be back Tuesday.

Makes no sense for Everberg to stay with the Avs just to play 4th line minutes. He looked good with O'Reilly and Landeskog but we need Mack there to be the best offensive team we can be. He'll learn a lot playing as a top guy in Lake Eerie.

When did Everberg go from being part of the solution to our 4th line to being a player that should play in the top 9 or play in the AHL, as long as he doesn't touch 4th line minutes?!

It's the right move to send Everberg down if he is only going to get 4th line minutes here. He's young he needs playing time.

Much rather have Cliche and McCleod rotting away on the bottom line/press box than Everberg.

It's about the team. We need a 4th line that can play, and we just sent down the only one on our fourth line that actually could play. It's weakening our team at a critical time.

If the fourth line was really our biggest problem at this point we'd have 4 wins already. The 4th line isn't playing well and cliche sucks, but there's a lot more between this and last year's start than an ineffectual 4th line.

I never said it was our biggest problem.

Or he and Mitchell form the best third line along with a healthy??? Insert player here. All of a sudden with McG back and a healthy Mitchell we are forward happy.... Maybe we could find another d man since Hedja looks to have lost a step or two? Trade bait?

Like it or not Cliche is the 4C, Everberg is not going to be in that role. Hopefully he can come back when the goalie mess is sorted out. Everyone dreaming up your imaginary 3rd and 4th lines it's never going to happen. Mitchell is the 3C, not the 4C as much as you wish it were the case.

They actually should have sent him down yesterday and kept Varly off of IR. So they sacrificed potentially 2 games of Varly for him, which is huge to begin with.

Hopefully Talbot can centre out 4th line from now. Or if we want our stud C's all at C, Mitchell on the 4th line.

This.

x1000.

The guy isn't going to be a future top 6 player on this team. He was great on the 4th line. That's all he needs to be right now and maybe a good 3rd liner in the future.

While I understand the move, I wish Cliche was the odd man out instead.

My ideal solution would have been to have Talbot C the 4th line until Winchester was back. Keep Mitchell as 3C. Ditch Cliche instead of Everberg.

It's a shame they didn't waive Cliche instead. If someone claims him, it would free up a contract spot.
