TSN is reporting that the Kings are a team interested in acquiring Debrincat if he is avaliable on the the trade market.
I'd be worried if ANY team wasn't interested in a 24-yr old, 40-goal scorer. This thing is getting stupid....I'd be worried if the Kings weren't at least interested.
In my opinion it is not worth it and it is not the right time to pull the trigger on such a tradeA 24-year-old sniper who will be a RFA next summer, with two 40+ goal seasons, plus he scored 32 goals in 52 games in a shortened season. There really is no reason for Chicago to move him unless they’re blown away by an offer built around youth. The Kings have the assets, but is it worth it and is it the right time to pull the trigger on such a trade?
From a salary-cap perspective, the Blackhawks also aren’t in a place where they want to commit long-term to a player. Davidson is already saddled with Jones’ $9.5 million cap hit for the next eight seasons. As much as Davidson likes Jones as a player, that’s not how he would have preferred to begin this rebuild. DeBrincat has a qualifying offer of $9 million after the 2022-23 season. That’s probably where the number starts for a short- or long-term extension, especially if it eats into any of his unrestricted free-agent seasons. Davidson doesn’t want to have nearly $20 million in cap space devoted to two players this early into the rebuild. He’d rather have cap and roster flexibility at this stage.

Bit of a gamble for Chicago as well but I think they want to get bigger + skill and Sol is probably right on the price. Either Byfield/Bjornfot/first or Turcotte/Clarke/First. Either way it’s going to be steep.I don't see a deal to be had here, Chicago will ask for the farm, and rightfully so. For me, it's actually the timing and the money. Not that Cat isn't worth it, but we have to see what guys are going to turn into before making a big commitment like this.
Seems like he values him by including him in a deal for one of the best u-25 goal-scorers in the league?your irrational hate for Byfield is approaching your vendetta for Quick.
Has to be a RHD in any trade proposal, trade from a position of depth.Vilardi, Toby, 1st and a 2nd is ideal for the Hawks.
Is dedicating 9M+ (assuming we re-sign him) to a small one dimensional winger a winning formula?
I am nowhere nearly smart enough to know what 'pejorative slured' means, but I'm guessing that's your way of suggesting that Sol is an idiot for suggesting to throw Byfield in a deal for Debrincat. I agree. It would be profoundly Pejorative Slured to give up on Byfield yet for almost anybody.
