Speculation: DEADLINE DALLAS: Dream Defenseman Destination? Discuss.

Frozen Failure

They got business in my hockey, and I hate it.

Long term he's going to be replacing Lindell, in Nill's mind. Which, really wouldn't even realistically happen until 2025-2026.

Which is fine. Neither Suter nor Lindell suffered long term injuries this season, so there was basically no chance for Bischel to come up and play meaningful minutes. Especially with the rise of Harleyhorse.

I would probably be content to see them re-sign Hakanpaa for two years. But Nill should be looking at the four year plan for an RD.

I don't think Tanev is it, so I'm hopeful there's some move there to get Dallas where they need to get to.

Better than Bourque or Bichsel like the Flames fans were demanding lol

Saw an inquiry about Bichsel returning to Sweden and was wondering the same thing myself. Was he overwhelmed physically in the AHL or were there other factors? And curious about his role with Rogle as opposed to Leksands?

He's not the kind of player that offensive numbers tell alot about; his just over 19 minutes of ice time is third amongst Rogle's defenders.

Sounds like that decision was made almost exclusively for personal reasons.

Odds are he will return to Austin once Rogle's season is done, and he should remain with the Texas Stars from then on out.

My only problem is losing to the Avs.
That one is really on the schedule maker more than the Stars - having to fly to Denver on a back-to-back to play a well-rested and acclimated team is complete bullshit. It's not a coincidence that the Avs have such a good home record compared to their road record.

That advantage won't help Colorado in the playoffs though, once both teams have the same travel schedule.

The more I read about Seeler, the more I feel like he would make a great playoff piece. Maybe Suter gets injured due to being old and then we can run:

Heiskanen - Tanev
Harley - Lindell
Seeler - Lundkvist
Suter

Great combo of offensive and defensive skill on each pair, good puck moving

Will probably just put Bichsel at that spot

Yeh looking at the roster now, getting seguin and Dadonov back, having borque possibly available can't see an addition at forward required

And given Bischel could potentially be there for the situation of multiple injuries on defense call up I don't think we need an 8th veteran D.

If it happens and Nill swings something all good but I'm pretty comfortable if no other move is made.

Mavs can get called up next week without any impact right?

Am I right in saying post deadline we are free to call him up as long as we stay under the cap

Limited to 3 or 4 callups after the deadline . If you call somebody up you better keep him up or have a serious enough injury . You can still use emergency callups if you play a game short but otherwise its only limited callups.

Miro - Roy
Harley - Tanev
Lindell - Lundkvist
Suter - Hakanpaa

Would be an amazing setup. Each pairing is well balanced, and Lindell - Tanev can be put together for closing out games and PK duty

And yes Troy, I know Suter will never be scratched. It's not gonna stop me from trying to will it into existence. Don't @ me

Crazy f***ing fact:

That is my EXACT order when I go to Dairy Queen 👨‍❤️‍👨

Haven't had DQ since I was a little kid and a Butterfinger Blizzard was my go to back then. Once I moved to Dallas, I was all about Braum's and those brownie fudge sundaes. I snagged one when I was last in DFW like 10 years ago.
