I am violently ill at the prospect of Nemeth-Braun. like forrealsies.

I get that bottom pairs basically never play in the playoffs but that's a pair that shouldn't even lace their skates.

Im actually ok with it. I know Nemeth was turdish most of the year but I actually feel like his game has turned around a bit since hes returned.

Lets not forget he will be fresh for the playoffs playing only 49 thus far

I love Schneider, he's been such a huge bright spot on this team. I also think he could use a game here or there and he's slipped a bit. That could 100% be Nemeth's influence, but he's a young guy playing at a level we didn't think he'd be at right now. It's ok to give him a game or two off. Also ok: Playing him with Braun and sitting Nemeth.

100% agree and love the way he plays the game.

The only thing braun needs to do to make the team better is to be able to chip the puck out of the zone, unlike say, everyone last night.

I dunno why people thought Drury was some wildman wheeler dealer.

I don't see us being on Rakell either, I think that's a pretty obvious smokescreen.

A center, a center. My kingdom for a center.

Did anyone really believe that we were going to send out Chytil, Kravstov, Gauthier, Georgiev, Robertson, Lundkvist, Cuylle, Jones, Laf, Kakko, and the next 3 first round picks for a cost-controlled center?

What about:

Braun-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Lindgren-Schneider/Nemeth

Could Braun augment Fox considering he shouldn't have the puck too much offensively?
This. Keep Nemeth as the 7th. I am totally fine with picking up Braun. Super capable defensive d-man with shitloads of play off experience.

I'd hold onto Georgiev. You wont get enough back for him and you need a competent backup who can start every game, God Forbid

The Shesty getting run over in the playoffs and not getting any calls threat is f***ing REAL. Shesty is goddamn good, but he's made of brittle 15-year ABS plastic.

The Rangers will look to trade Georgiev this summer. The Rangers aren't qualifying him. Maybe some team wants to sign him to a contract before the Rangers don't qualify him. The guy can play. I hope he doesn't end up in Jersey as a free agent.

It's also a good thing to put out there from the rangers perspective if they're not really getting any quality offers for him. With his quiet and tight lipped as a ranger's front office has been since Drury took over I find it very hard pressed to believe that ESPN of all places is managed to crack into the front office and find some actual factual information

Trading Georgiev now was a longshot at best. We would have needed to bring in a replacement at the same time and not really many options out there.

We'll see if we can trade his rights before QOs are due. If not, expect him to not be qualified and become a UFA.

Not for nothing Rooney Kakko Vatrano Braun ain’t a bad infusion of talent for the stretch run
Rooney, Kakko, Vatrano, Braun over Mckegg, Nemeth (would hope but probably not gonna happen), Brod and Hunt in the bottom 6 vs top 6 is huge.

I mean if there isn't a guy out there that's available who you think is actually demonstrably better than Geo, there's no point in trading him. You own his rights and his value is low so there's really no reason to force the deal. Personally I don't see many better options on the market based on the names that have been discussed.

That being said, we weren't trading Stepan 15 minutes before it happened.

I dont know... maybe I'm in the minority... I haven't been crazy about Rooney's game since the 1st month

Vatrano and Braun though have been shrewd moves.

Reactions: Jackpot
Georgiev wouldn’t have played last night if there was any smoke around a trade. He’s worthless at this point and far better served as an Igor backup this year than whatever insulting offer might’ve come our way. The only way he’s going anywhere is part of a multi-piece package.

Schneider has looked good but more human of late. He's only 20 years of age, won't be 21 until next season.

It's not a tragedy if Drury thinks a Nemeth-Braun veteran pairing is what it's needed, and I'll tell you this...

I'd rather Schneider be the next man up in case of injury than Hajek or Tinordi, who we are one badly timed injury away from seeing in an important playoff game.
