I can’t imagine anyone buying from the team at this point. You can snatch up the best seats in the house for literally 1/10th the cost on secondary markets.

At a certain point, that’s going to dry up because no one’s going to buy tickets to resell in the first place.
You can just show up with any seats then take what you want when you realize the bottom is half empty anyway.

The core for me is Dahlin, Benson, and Thompson (and latter only because our center spine is so dire). Everyone else is available (Cozens and Peterka at the head of the line to relocate).
You’re not getting more than a used up third line winger and a 2nd rounder for Cozens or Peterka or Quinn at this point.

We’d obviously get a lot for Powers and Byram…but where the f*** are you ever going to find replacements with literally 29 other teams looking for Defense?

I saw we were up 5-3, considered turning the game on and thought to myself....nahhhh. This team makes it so easy to just not be interested. Even when they do get a lead you know theres a 75% chance they will blow it.

My kid is going into high school and has never seen this team in the playoffs. Had a chance to pick up tickets for the game tonight royally on the cheap and she said she'd rather stay home and read despite having her homework finished before 6 pm. Can't say she made the wrong call.

Hey good for taking the initiative to actually read!

My daughter turns 13 in a week and is going to secondary school/high school next year.

The Sabres last won a playoff game before she was born. I had no children when they last won a game. I don't even really remember what it was like not having kids now ... I don't really remember what it was like being a playoff team.

Peterka is slumping so badly. Fanned on two one-timers from his spot on the right faceoff dot. Looks lost way too often. He should replace Quinn in the pressbox for a few games.

Greenway was really good in his first game back. When he's engaged he is a very useful player.

Adams will be fired before the New Year.

But don't think for a moment his replacement is the answer.
Oh, if only.

Might happen, but I don't think any move is going to be done before the end of the season.

I agree, the replacement won't matter, if he stays within the organization.

I think the right now due to the drought and management of the team are far more important than any lack of certain varieties of perennials or tax rates. These are things that are *his job* to overcome.

Anyways, there's already a thread for this. We've got another team to play tonight, also hailing from a geographical area lacking in certain foliage. We are both better suited at this time of year though for those wanting a holiday shrub, so there's that!
And Adams admitted that.

He said they have to earn the respect of players around the league so that the Sabres become a destination franchise like the Bills have.

The location and taxes make the lift harder. I don't get why that is shocking to people.

What does this have to do with it? Is it about the city or the franchise? I just don't get it. The franchise hasn't made the playoffs for 13 years, but what does the city have to do with it? People don't want to play in Buffalo because it sucks to live there or because the franchise has been bad for the last few years? Everyone knows the Sabres have great fans and I saw it years ago, the city seems normal, Canada is nearby, but the city is in the US.

You can attract players anywhere, you just have to work and not whine about palm trees and taxes. I'm tired of explaining this, it's basic.
The tax issue is a real thing. That is why GMs in high tax states lost their minds the past two summers when you have Reinhart taking way less than market level to re-sign in Florida or Nashville signs Stamkos and Marchessault. That is not just a Kevyn Adams thing.

And the weather and the perception of living in Buffalo is a thing. A lot of young guys with disposable income would much rather have the quality of life that places like SoCal and Florida and Nashville have to offer over places like Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Buffalo.

It makes the lift harder. That doesn't make it impossible. But, it does make it challenging.

You know what else makes it challenging? The owner hiring rookie GMs with the latest being the most unqualified NHL GM hire that I can ever remember. The owner seemingly being unwilling to hire a veteran GM that knows how to build a winner is the root of the problem.

Kevyn Adams is just the yes man that takes the slings and arrows for his boss that gave him a job that he wasn't prepared to do.

I see good players signing with different teams, again it doesn't affect the trades (where there is no trrade protection). So that's the problem, the owner has been doing shit for 13 years. And the GM is not able to recognize that he needs a top 4 RD or top 6 F otherwise he will not make the playoffs and will be fired. The city may be a problem for some players, but it does not make the task much more difficult if you know how to work.
