“Batman v Superman,†one of the most expensive films ever made, is on pace to produce a $278 million profit for Warner Bros. once home video, TV and merchandise proceeds are tallied, according to SNL Kagan analyst Wade Holden. That’s less than the estimated $300 million the studio earned from “Man Of Steel.†It’s also evidence that Warner Bros. has more work to do to make its DC Comics division the unbreakable superhero movie business it needs.

Willem Dafoe Joins JUSTICE LEAGUE

Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of Zack Snyder's Justice League Part One in a mystery role. However, we do know that he'll be playing a good guy in the film. Will he be an actual superhero?

Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of Zack Snyder's Justice League. To no surprise, details on his character are being kept under wraps. For those thinking he'll play another villain, guess again. THR reports that Dafoe will be playing one of the good guys and that he'll appear in Part One and Part Two. Is he playing a supporting, non-super powered character, like J.K. Simmons Commissioner Gordon? Or will Dafoe play an actual superhero? He would make a pretty good Martian Manhunter.

So, have I got this right so far?

- Daredevil is Batman
- Dracula is Heat Wave
- The Punisher is Volstagg
- Human Torch is Captain America
- Storm is Catwoman
- Green Lantern is Deadpool (and Hannibal King)
- J. Jonah Jameson is Commissioner Gordon
- Superman is The Atom
- Superman is the human adoptive father of Supergirl
- Green Goblin 1 is TBD DC Character

Am I missing anyone? Is it just me or is there only like 100 actors in the world?

Michael Keaton may also be playing the villain in the new Spider-Man movie.

Will Smith is also jumping into the superhero universe after doing his own original superhero character in Hancock.

Wow, didn't know about Michael Keaton. As far as Will Smith goes, I was only really focusing on DC/Marvel. I didn't list other crossovers with other similar genre film/TV (V for Vendetta, etc).

Will Smith is more of an anomaly, but it does highlight the silliness of it all.

It wouldn't surprise me to see some of the cast from the failed Fantastic Four movie show up in other superhero films. They're all young and up and coming actors, and wouldn't be surprised to see Michael B Jordan or Miles Teller be tapped for something in a few years.

I think the payday from these films are too good to pass up, and there will be a desire to right the wrong of their failed franchise attempt.

The Flash director departs amid creative differences

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Warner Bros.’ planned film of The Flash has lost its director, Seth Grahame-Smith, citing creative differences over the project. Grahame-Smith, the screenwriter of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and previous drafts of Beetlejuice 2, was set to make his directorial debut with the film, which has a treatment written by The LEGO Movie directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

Well here comes the changes.

Geoff Jones and Jon Berg are in charge of the DC movie verse.

Man, DC is just panicking. Geoff Johns and Jon Berg... it's nice that they now one 2 people in charge of the DCCU, but it should be 1 person. But I just don't understand the choice. I'm glad Johns understand the comics, but Johns is a writer who's never written a good film and Berg is a producer who has only produced 1 good film (Edge of Tomorrow).

Everything DC/WB is doing know just seems reactionary. They obviously don't like Snyder's vision yet he's directing JL 1 and 2. Suicide Squad might be having problems. Their thinking of doing a Harley Quinn solo... And now they hire 1 average writer and 1 average producer to helm their entire universe. Leadership is the main ingredient to accomplish something great; DC/WB is lacking serious leadership;lets see if this works or if they're just going to have another knee-jerk reaction a couple movies from now. I'm hesitantly looking forward to Wonder Woman and excited for SS, but I'm weary of practically everything else. I love Zack; but he ****ed up BvS imo; and it's just not the DCCU we deserve or want.

Well they like what Jones is doing with Flash and Arrow on top of his comics work.

Don't know where you get the idea that SS is having problems. They must like something to go ahead with a Harley solo (though that is disingenuous. It sounds more likely it will be a Birds of Prey movie).

DC has built their entire franchise on trying to be the anti Marvel and it's becoming increasingly clear that this is simply not what people want. Nobody takes the men in tights fighting aliens this serioisly. There's no reason why Captain America vs Iron Man, two characters that nobody even wanted to make movies about a decade ago, should be a more compelling premise than Batman vs Superman. They are panicked because they royally ****ed up their properties

Geoff Johns is a great addition. He really gets these characters and has written some fantastic stories for DC. Looking forward to seeing if he can be DC's Feige.

But is he DC's Feige? Feige is the President of Marvel Studios; besides Disney's Chairman Alan Horn, gets final say in everything. Who does Johns report to? Doesn't sound like someone who has a lot of power in what happens. I still don't get a sense of solid leadership that such a venture should have but I think it's better than what it was before with Snyder helming it; hopefully with a guy like Johns, if he does have power, can stick closer to the source, especially pre-52.

He and Berg report to the WB higher ups. The money people. All the writers and directors report to Johns and Berg.

Johns is a good choice as he does get these characters. Best thing to happen to GL and I enjoyed his run on Superman.

Johns and Morrison were the only two guys at DC that got to keep their story arcs going when the Flashpoint reboot happened.

Morrison is a bit to crazy IMO to head this though, as much as I like him.
