And the highest scoring dman on the team while having at least 15 less games than most of the other dman.

Impressive.

I haven’t been hugely impressed so far but he’s getting better and his team is quite bad. Good to see him play through this. As long as he keeps improving he’ll be fine

I value Reinbacher as our next top paie dman in the futur. This is more valuable than any futur top 6 a la Leonard, Benson. The only debate was with Michkov. This is not because Benson is aleeady playing in Buffalo than he is going to be a better player. Even if I really like Guhle. I see Reinbacher to be a better all around dman. There is no price for this even if we have a ton of D in the pipeline

I agree with you. Reinbacher will be a more valuable player than Leonard, Benson or Dvorsky. No doubt, Habs did well to pick him over them (Even if I wanted one of them with that high pick). The only question will always be Matvei Michkov, only the future will tell. But at this moment, Reinbacher fit easily more in Habs system, perfect D for Lane Hutson. The defensive group looks set for many years to come with that type of D. A two-way beast, great skating, great stick, great mobility, great passing ability. He have everything to become a top pairing D.

Like you said, there’s context because his team is bad. You really have to watch him and he might concentrate on things the habs told him to focus on for his development that we don’t know.

For sure. Not down on him. Just expecting him to look a bit better. Even with the rough patch I’ve seen good things

The thing with Sbah is that his fanboism was never complacent, or toxic. He wasn't lurking in threats trying to argue with everyone that the sky was clear blue. He just wanted to bring up the best of everything. He just genuinely enjoyed the team, and hockey, and just wanted to ride along.

It's great that so many people remember him. In this holiday season... maybe we should all be a little more like Sbah.

Well said. I miss being the kid version of me where I would have hope for every game and every season. I miss being less analytical.

At some point, I got too invested and lost the feeling of being a spontaneous and hopeful fan, and there's no going back now.

The kid version of me would be cheering hard for the Habs to shock the world and have a fairytale ending. The current version of me is too jaded to have that perspective. Sbah never lost it.

Would be nice to see good improvement over the
next 20 or so games. But I don't care about anything
that he did so far. The beginning of his season was
messed up in several ways. And he doesn't have a
lot of support on a weak team.
Now if he plays a good long stretch of games, I
think it's fair to expect to see more progress.

Agreed. Having watched DR last year at the WJCs, he stood out against the stron nations. Being on such a weak team, he balanced things out everytime he was on the ice

Not a very good game from him, one to forget.

However I was relieved to see him talking shit to the other team. One of my issues with him is that for a big guy who likes to throw big hits, he really isn't very mean or intimidating. As we saw with Struble last night, if he throws big hits he's going to need to be able to drop the gloves.

he was a little more chippy as you don't see that from him as you said, only 1 or 2 other games this year have I seen more angry Reinbacher.

Look at the morons he has to play with. That lob pass he gave to his teammate that hit him in the face. He saw it the entire way, use your glove to bring it down and you’re in on goal alone.

But seriously, nothing in that video points to a bad game. He looks like a breakout machine. Puck is on and off his stick instantly and it’s usually an accurate and crisp pass. Also had a couple of good shots on net. It looks really encouraging.

Look at 2:10 in the video

Yes, players lose an edge sometimes. You think that means he played bad?
He played very badly that shift, can you agree with that? It's not just the wipeout it's getting back in the play slowly, getting cooked on the boards by a small forward, giving up 2 more scoring chances that shift, and allowing 30-40 seconds of offensive zone time.

I'm honestly not seeing the breakout machine you are seeing in this video. Maybe I have higher expectations than you, but from this video specifically I am not seeing it

Do you really think that's what I said?
Lol okay.
The part I assume you were referring to and quite obviously so was "nothing in that video points to a bad game"
To which you reply with a 'look to 2:10 of the video' where he loses an edge covering someone for the first time in the history of a hockey game this has EVER happened I guess.

So yes without putting words in your mouth , what did you think were you trying to say..?

What is with the ridiculous hyperbole?

He had an uneventful game with a couple bad shifts. As I've said it wasn't just the blown tire ankle breaker it was the entire shift following that. There were a couple plays I liked and a couple I didn't. I want to see better from him, I'm sure you do too, I even gave him a compliment in the same post.

Merry Xmas

Good news is that Kloten's last game of the season is on March 4th. And with Kloten clearly not making the playoffs, he will be able to come over pretty much right away and join Laval for the final month of their season.

Even if the Rocket don't qualify for the playoffs, he will be able to be here for enough games.

Getting taken off of the PP is a good thing for him, right? 16:30 ice time is a sign of strong development?

Or maybe it just wasn't his best game and I shouldn't be attacked for saying the truth

I didn't understand the pick back then and even more confused now. I'm sure he'll be a good top 4 D maybe top pairing but he doesn't look like a top 5 pick in terms of talent.

I won't even bother mention he who shall not be named in habs land

Me too at the draft, I don't like the pick. But at this moment, Reinbacher looks like a solid choice. Lane Hutson need a D like that. Hutson will be the player that Habs fan wanted, a offensive spectacular player. Reinbacher is a solid two-way D. Top pair potential, for sure. So I understand that pick.

Offense is important, but D aswell and Habs have all potential to build a solid D for the future.

Maybe. But watching Leonard against Norway, an admittedly a weaker opponent, he looks like a true future star in the NHL. I have my doubts that Reinbacher will be more valuable. Real doubts.

Star is a strong word. He could very well become a Tj Oshie like player. Good player, but not a top line guy.
