His team is having a terrible season and the coaching staff is just throwing stuff at the wall, I don't see anything too dramatic about that. It's all experience in the long run and that's what his D+1 season should be all about anyway IMO. As long as he's healthy and playing a ton, I don't mind it.

Playing a specialized position on the PP won't affect his development. In fact, cross-position training should be encouraged.
Yeah, sure.

Plenty of top Ds played bumper/wing during their D+1?

This is not peewee hockey.

Guy was drafted top 5 in the NHL as a D.

Time for him to be brought back in North America if they start using him as a winger on the PP.

He disappeared during the covid period. We suspected the worse at the time.
Indeed.
Given everything we learned about him over the years it's imposssible he woudn't have chimed in on the numerous threads going on at the time in particular during the SCF run. We can only surmise that old age or covid caught up to him and prevented him from being here. He was far too avid a fan to have not checked in at one point. He'd be happy to know people bring him up every so often I'm sure.

For sure, I mean, I know exactly who you are talking about by reading this and I think that would make him happy too. Lots of great interactions with him. Always so consistently fun and positive.

No, but it's not especially relevant either. Players are asked to fill some special roles all the time. Offensive players often play in the PK even though they aren't projected to do so in the NHL.

Kloten may have injured forwards, or just believe David is their best player to play there, which may be more of a testament of Kloten depth.

This is, again, this board losing its mind over nothing.

It shouldn’t be encouraged at all. This is why nobody does this
Professional athletes cross-train all the time, often in different sports altogether, and especially when they are developing.

he's now got 3 pts in the last 4 games, 5 pts in the last 9. The last few games he's looked better and better, still making some mistakes but they aren't as bad as he's had in some previous games.

What a novel concept put a talented Dman on the wing for a PP. :sarcasm:
It's not like we haven't suggested this might help our main club given our general lack of success and talent.
Maybe the higher ups will take notice and start trying that in our system we certainly have more than one dman who can fill the role
at both levels.

The thing with Sbah is that his fanboism was never complacent, or toxic. He wasn't lurking in threats trying to argue with everyone that the sky was clear blue. He just wanted to bring up the best of everything. He just genuinely enjoyed the team, and hockey, and just wanted to ride along.

It's great that so many people remember him. In this holiday season... maybe we should all be a little more like Sbah.

This is the dumbest shit I've ever read.

Really good idea to play him in a position he'll never play ever in the NHL.

Great development in Kloten.
Well Kloten isn’t in the business of developing him for the Habs. I just think it’s a silly spot for a defenceman. It’s also silly to have 3 defenders on a PP unit.

Interesting to note that Reinbacher is somehow a +3 on a shit team that is full of negative players.... In fact, he's the highest +/- player on his team. I know that some think the +/- stat is useless, but I don't agree...It can be somewhat useful.

This is such a close-minded approach. Nobody gives a shit. The idea is for him to handle the puck make plays and have some success while doing it.
What's dumb is someone thinking he can't learn from another prospective.

I am absolutely IRATE at this decision to play him on RW. Get him on a plane to Jamaica then to Montreal and let him play in Laval for the rest of the year.

And the highest scoring dman on the team while having at least 15 less games than most of the other dman.

Yeah it’s all about context with plus/minus.

18 year old with pretty heavy deployment for the majority of his games on a lousy team. It’s certainly not a bad thing
