Prospect Info: David Reinbacher - Laval Rocket edition

My opinion that a player with a knee disease, whether minor or not, that came to camp with knee braces and just had a knee injury that required knee surgery are signs of a chronic issue or at the very least, are concerning. I have the same info as everyone else, and my opinion can be right or wrong, but at this point, I am not going to concede anything other than I was a bit too passionate previously. I can ask you for proof to the contrary, but I know no one has any proof. This is a message board where people can have opinions. This isn't a court of law, and I think you are taking things a bit too seriously. You think I don't know what I am talking about, so why continue to discuss with me. Why so butthurt over a random poster's opinion. Just call me an idiot and move on. It's no skin off my back.
You're getting killed for this brother god bless your soul.

Semantics can make a man go insane haha. I agree with your overall point in that his health is concerning at the very least until proven otherwise.

We'll see. I think fans don't quite realize how much personal relationships can change decision making. Off the ice there's a lot more reasons to keep Matheson in Montreal.

We've made it clear that we aren't a cut throat organization like Vegas or Florida

I don't think theres anything "cut throat" about not extending a 30+ player at a position where they Canadiens have a wealth of young prospects.

There's nothing cut throat about that scenario at all.

Even if Hugues’s judgement could be clouded (not convinced) Gorton is his boss so I don’t think we need to be concerned about Hugues being overly sentimental

I have osgood-schlatter in both knees. No impacts on me once I was finished growing. He may have some knee pain if he falls on the bumps that form under his knee, but he should be absolutely fine.
When I was playing the 12yr/A3 division, our goalie had it and led us to leather jackets.

Not bad for having sausage knees.

Can someone tell me how I can avoid this new knee disease?

Asking for a friend.
I run a soccer club, so there are a few players with OSD.. it's an issue of pain... they still play at a high level, but the aftermath (post game/training) typically requires icing, etc..

I'll give my anecdotal 2 cents - it sucks.. imo if we have a chance to swap (a la Gauthier/drysdale) i'd do it.

I'm impressed at how good he is at everything.

There were some amazing defensive plays, notably one on the PK. His vision is excellent. His skating and mobility is high end. He has a good shot that gets though. His transition game is one of his strengths. He can take the body and be physical. Really complete defenseman, while also being right handed.

He's trending to be an absolute #1 RD that provides literally everything we need.

Hutson will conceivably have PP1 for years but he's a very nice option for PP2 and a great backup if needed.

What he brings is going to transform this team, no joke. Imagine the upgrade if we straight swapped Reino and Savard right now today, let alone where he'll be in a few years.

Hard to say, because the AHL is much weaker.

I'm glad they're not rushing Reinbacher.

It's honestly not that hard for me and I wouldn't call myself some high level hockey scout, it's just that apparent.

Reinbacher has NHL level skating, gap control, poise, IQ, transition game, physicality, and you can keep adding to this list. Current Savard loses to Reino in all those categories, I think quite handily.

However I do agree with you not to rush him, he's coming back from an injury and is only just finding his way, to keep him in the AHL for the season is obvious to me. I also think that David Savard needs the respect to be allowed one final push with this team and these kids he's helped raise. Benching him for Reinbacher is disrespectful and I think damaging to the locker room.

While I agree he should stay down, I absolutely disagree that he wouldn't be a significant upgrade from current version Savard.
