Prospect Info: David Reinbacher - Laval Rocket edition

I don’t recall Reinbacher walking up to the stage like Tiny Tim. I’m sure they did their due diligence before drafting him. It’s not like Reinbacher was a reach either. Montreal wasn’t the only team interested in him either. He would’ve gone top 10.

maybe, but I wouldn't have drafted a guy with knee concerns, just like I wouldn't have touched Lindstrom and his back injury. BPA should come with health concerns as well as skill.

Assuming there's soreness but no structural damage in his knee I would think this is the best way to handle the situation, with a huge amount of caution.

I'd much rather the kid sit for an extra week or two to make sure everything heals properly or limit any swelling that might be happening.

Much rather this than trying to appease an overly emotional fanbase where certain characters complain about anything they possibly can.

“To David’s credit, he didn’t come here and sulk because he was injured,” Hughes said. “He came here, did all his rehab, and he was really focused on learning how we play and how others play and how he can become a better hockey player. And, for somebody who was out for a long time, I saw him play two or three times live and a couple more on stream and have seen a pretty successful return to play. I’m looking forward to him having the opportunity to finish this season and hopefully get a deep playoff run in with Laval.”

- Kent Hughes

Hughes is a liar and idiot though, wouldn't trust anything he says. Baldies are worse than longnecks. He's short too, he disgusts me.

You guys can question me all you want lol. This is getting ridiculous. Think what you want. This is a player with a chronic issue, but he was playing fine. Now, he hasn't been even skating for a week. Context matters. People are making it seem that he is fine and dandy and this is just a rest. Based on the wording in that tweet, that is likely not the case. it isn't sunshine and rainbows how people want it to be. People are way too defensive about a potential problem here. I am just going to leave it at that.

What chronic issue?

I think the context here is that the plan was probably not to have him miss any games except back to back games. So in that sense, he is missing more games than they anticipated.. but in their return to play protocol, there is probably strict monitoring and if David is feeling any soreness, then he is probably instructed to rest and be in the therapist room until there's no soreness or impingement or whatever it might be.
Not a doctor here - with that out of the way - I wonder if the team should've given him some days off while bringing him back. He seemed to come back early so not a bad idea to skip some games?

Kirby Dach's knee had zero to do with the wrist injuries he suffered in Chicago... you can't predict that anymore than Heineman getting hit by a car.
I haven’t followed much but just to get my facts straight; are you implying that Dach isn’t injury prone or that he’s just been unlucky, several times?

Dach had a wrist injury that the Blackhawks badly mismanaged. When we traded for him there was concern (including from me) that it would be a problem going forward. The Canadiens did their diligence and determined it wasn't a problem. They turned out to be right about that.

The knee injury happened independently. It has zero to do with his previous wrist problem. No GM could've predicted that. If he'd re-injured the wrist? Then sure, you could say we didn't do our homework or it was a risk that didn't pay off. But you can't predict this.

Okay guys, I am here to straighten everything out. I worked in healthcare for 27 years before retiring... in Information Technology. From my experience, it's a network problem (everything in healthcare IT gets blamed on the network). If they reboot Reinbacher's router, he should be fine.
