It's almost as if he doesn't watch the games. Kakko and Kravtsov were probably our two best forwards and neither sees the ice in OT. Quinn is an embarrassment.

Idk what he’s doing. Is he trying to keep track of ice time rather than what’s happening on the ice? I don’t get it.

It’s not about who was on the ice for the winning goal. It’s about why you go to Strome and Kreider as your second group, who do nothing but get us hemmed in our end and then lose a D zone face off. Yes, Chytil was on the ice for about 10 seconds and lost the puck. But why aren’t we seeing Kakko and Kravtsov when they’ve played so well this game? When Kreider and Strome have had bad games, why do you feel that’s the duo that’s gonna get the OT winner?

See, I'm willing to keep Q around (that is to say not fire him in the off-season), because I want to see how the team looks without any anchors on it.

That's gonna happen next season, with the last anchor (B.Smith) being gone. Then we'll get a better grasp of the situation, the system, the effectiveness of it.

This season's weakest link is the bottom D pair. If we underwhelm next season, it's bye bye time.

What has Quinn accomplished with this team that makes you want to keep him around? He's accomplished less with more than any coach since Trottier/Low.

This isn’t a coach with the Sens roster or Detroit roster. He’s got a ton of weapons. He’s been given infinite amount of high end skill players and lottery picks. He still couldn’t even do the simplest of things tonight: PLAY THE YOUNG GUYS THROUGHOUT, ON THE PP, AND IN OT. He’s a waste. Take the college guys with you back to the NCAA. Clean the entire house.

Patience.

Around here? Ha

There was literally ONE minute of OT play. But geniuses here love to be right with the benefit of hindsight. Makes them feel good about themselves. Now since the kids are playing better compared to early in the season it’s no longer about Quinn ruining them, now it’s about Quinn being outcoached. Short term memory loss that he just won the prior game against the same coach (who has the 3rd most NHL wins EVER!)

Again my only argument is, he couldn't really do anything properly, because of the personnel liabilities in the lineup.

Next season, it'll be a completely overhauled roster, from when he took over. I think the FO see's it also like this. He'll be around for at least 8 more months.

Let me counter-argue, that Trottier and Low (not that I was around for them) probably coached at a time, where you could do more with less.

That is to say, you need way more in 2020 to be successful in the NHL than in whenever those two coached.

Exactly, what Quinn has been doing is only keep developing our teenage and early 20’s prospects to play the right way in the competitive environment.

If someone thinks that overall Quinn had a better roster over the last 2+ years than Torts or AV, I don’t know what to tell them (what haven’t been said already a thousand times). For some, the youngest team in the NHL is just bunch of words.

It's not about being right. I was shaking my head even before the goal was scored. As soon as I saw Kredier and Strome on the ice as the 2nd group in OT I facepalmed. The fact that they actually got scored on is besides the point. They shouldn't have been out there in the first place.

They just took 3 out of 4 points from one of the best teams and most defensive teams in the league and people are STILL bitching and moaning?

The fact he has THIS team, after all that has transpired this year even sniffing the playoffs is a minor miracle

Not really, I know they've had injuries and Panarin's situation but he has done far less with more than Torts. Outside of Lundqvist look at that 2011-2012 roster and it's not like Shesterkin is crap. Quinn has done less with more than any coach since Trottier/Low.

Except it was not hindsight, but foresight. Quinn is so transparent people called out his bad play before he did it.

The FO, credit to them, identified the need to bring in Martin and Knoblauch to help steady the ship. It's good to see Laf not having to go through what Kakko did his first year.

Quinn is not all bad, his creativity hits the mark too, but with him it's like seeing a prospect under development making hit and miss mistakes, which grates when you want a steady hand to guide young players into fantastic careers. It's good to see Quinn's team start to play a more team oriented game, but I don't think he is the prime driver shaping it.

Not really?

The DeAngelo debacle. Having to play with a third string goalie. Youngest team in the league by a mile. Best player (Panarin) misses 10 games. Which in a 56 game season is a lot. The starting goalie (Shesterkin) misses 10 games. The top center (MIka) unable to find a semblance of a game for the first 20 games. Trouba misses 8 games. Chytil gets covid and damages his shoulder. The entire coaching staff misses 5 games with covid. Same division as Boston, Isles, Washington & Pitt. And playing 32 out of 56 games against only these teams.

Going with those are some pretty crazy circumstances.

Are you Quinn's mom?

I get some people are still upset about power play and ot usage but atleast the usage of the young forwards at 5v5 has been much better. Baby Steps

When you no longer can make a cogent point.....

Every team has dealt with adversity. Quinn has been given two strong albeit extremely young top 2 picks and some of the best players in the league in Fox, Panarin, Zibanejad, and Shesterkin. Add to it guys like Strome and Buchnevich who are good top 6 players. But poor guy has had so much to deal with. Look at Pittsburgh, they've had injuries up the ass AGAIN and look at where they are. Same with Boston. This is all a bunch of excuses.
