I’ve been up front about not having been a Quinn fan from the beginning. If the team doesn’t show signs of implementing any form of discernible system, chemistry, defensive scheme, etc. and remains as defensively disjointed, continues to juggle lines each game and has a woeful PP by the end of this season I would be very in favor of moving on.

They had some of that Torts mentality still so they actually forechecked.

This time, we're going from AV to less experienced AV.

Why can't we ever get a coach like Claude Julien or a Rod Brind'Amour that promotes puck possession?

Oh yeah, because the Rangers clearly don't and never have cared abut analytics. Probably why they're a historically unsuccessful franchise in regards to cups.

What??
You have an analytic GM and coach yet this is the result.
How about we focus on wtf is going on, on the ice instead of a spreadsheet?

How many times has this shit been debunked already?

Lmao. My man, do you watch the games? The question you probably want to ask me. If you think DQ is a coach who promotes analytics, you are clearly dead wrong.

Who's debunked it? I could use an example.

C'mon now lol.
If you followed DQs hiring, you'd clearly know that he relies on that analytic nonsense.
I mean.. Just look at his decision making and it's more than clear.

Glad some more people are coming out of the wood works and chiming in about the flaws Quinn has. Again not rooting for the guy to go but this was a bad hire and many more are starting to see it.

Quinn is an analytics coach!!

or maybe 1) the team has different analytics than the ones available to fans for free or 2) on a rebuilding team current analytics aren't the main point or 3) howden played by default cause we had no other young center that warranted the spot and as soon as zibanejad, chytil and strome were all healthy he moved howden to the 4th line.

Edit: Actually that was a little mean.. Nevermind and Merry Christmas

Oh boy @JHS
Here we have a kid who openly YouTube's a video of himself shedding years of analytic spreadsheet BS he put into it and is now he's still posting dopey Gifs in order to defend it.
Same person that had no clue that it's a dmans job to force SOG to the outside for lower quality scoring chances.

Quinn definitely doesn't make his decisions based on analytics. Especially not on any of the publically available analytics that we all have access to.

Unless you want to argue that he is using completely different analytics, that are practically the opposite of what everybody means when they use the term, then you haven't got a leg to stand on here.

Make no mistake.
He certainly does use analytics.
You're fooling yourself otherwise..

Or maybe the Rangers just don't use them considering they're 28th-31st in all of them.

Not new- just wondering where you all were about 4 weeks ago or about 7 pages ago on this thread when @NYR and I were the only two going after Quinn on this thread while @True Blue spouted off about Quinn being a “development coach” and how Barry Trotz would not have been a better coach/hire.

serious question but isn't it well known that teams use analytics years beyond what the general public uses and fans that think they are using analyticals really don't know what teams are using or value? I don't mean for that to come across the wrong way, but don't teams have proprietary stuff that aren't made public?

secondly, you can't look at the current result on a rebuilding teams and say a team doesn't use or care about analytics. all it proves is that the current team isn't very good. but you don't need analytics to tell you that. I could have told you that before the season started. but that doesn't prove that the goal isn't to be good in those things down the road...

go back to september...just cause you picked out the few weeks that people got tired of complaining about the same things over and over again doesn't change that some people have been bashing quinn since the summer. every move that he makes someone hates
