Well...

Pay him but also get a good deal. Both sides win

Need money to pay/lockup Zacha (at this rate). Also money to sign potentially two top 6 centers (looking ahead).
I don’t think you can worry about paying Pavel Zacha when trying to pay Pasta, just pay Pasta and figure the rest out later. If you needa lose some guys so be it, nothing compared to losing Pastas offense.

Seriously. Re-signing Pasta is a must.

And honestly, if they are gonna overpay someone, I'd rather it be a star player, and not the guys we end up giving bloated salaries to on the bottom half of the roster.

Bruins really need Pastrnak to have some urgency to get this done. At some point this year there will be no reason for him to reup before UFA hits. He really seems like he's a hands off guy and just supremely confident in himself.

I mean we all thought a McAvoy clone deal with more bonus money would do the trick a couple months ago, now 8/88 may even be a little low considering the Panarin effect he will have in July, and make no mistake Pasta is a clearly superior player to Artemi. Playing all year with Krejci makes scoring 50 an afterthought.

Anything less than 10 aav would be incredible but is anyone really saying no at 10.5? Pay the man.

Ton of money coming off the books next year in Smith, Foligno, Zacha, Nosek. He is top priority and then Swayman.

You will have your elite goalscorer longterm. You have your number #1 and #2 defenseman longterm. You have a 1A 1B goalies signed longterm. Squeeze as much as you can out of your vets and focus on finding your #1C of the future and you can extend this window.

There's no need to worry. The Bruins will already know how much Pasta wants. It's just a matter of whether they need to pull the trigger or they can negotiate. There's nothing wrong with negotiating.

We all know what a great offensive player Pasta is but what has caught my eye this season is how much his defense has improved. Clearly he's learned from watching the best in the business and he's putting that knowledge to work.

Plus I think he's finally physically & mentally healthy, he definitely looks more engaged out there.

He also seems to be a lot stronger on his skates. He isn't as easy to knock off the puck as he has been in the past.

I’d guess

Bruins want him at 8x9.5
Pasta camp want him at 8x12

Find a happy medium guys

8x10.75

Donny will get it done

Every week this gets closer to season's end favors Pasta. No way his camp should flinch.
Pasta could tear his acl tonight and lose a lot of leverage

It’s best for both parties to get it done soon

Go to the very last question/part of the clip

Sweeney non chalant attitude that things are not close, is worrisome

Sounds like they are off on money. If I had to guess, Bruins at 9 to 10m per range. And Pasta looking for 12.5m per (8 @ 100m)

At the rate the Bruins is winning..cant see the team entertaining an idea to trade him. Sadly, he could walk at the end of the season with the Bruins getting nothing in return. Except capspace room

For the record, I’m not happy this has continued into the season.

However, Sweeney has earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to retaining his guys. His track record, to this point, is flawless. This has been his strength since he took on the role of GM.

FWIW, which isn’t much, I heard a few weeks ago they already offered Pasta over 11m AAV and that if they hit 12 it could delay things. Maybe they hit 12.
