Luongo got Burke fired.

Burke was all in - willing to trade 1sts/top prospects to get him - to win now.

BOG stepped in and said enough is enough - had to fire him immediately to prevent the continued destruciton of franchise.

I really hope that's true, although it seems like the opposite makes more sense. I will say that I believe this decision involves Luongo in some way IMO.

Nope it's the opposite.

Why would he trade guy's he's aquired like Kadri, Gardiner etc...

You got it backwards dude. Not sure if you're being sarcastic or something.

If Luongo is part of the issue, it is the other way around.

Nonis looks like a dead man walking. This is going to be a rough transition period for Leafs fans.

Or maybe it was the other way around?

I have a hard time believing Burke wanted to go all in again after the Kessel trade.

Yeah its entirely possible - but he used the Keyword "Patience" on multiple occasions during presser. Trading for Luongo is not being patient. Especially at that asking price.

Nonis: "I am more patient than Brian was"

Seems pretty evident to me after listening.

Kypreos says no matter what Anselmi says or what you heard, this has a lot to do with Luongo. They are still in the hunt for him.

honestly, the leaf franchise is such a joke right now, the fans need something to rally around.

trust me when i say this, after his first massive save with Houston on the call, you guys will be falling over each other in love with lu..

Interesting that Nonis made a point of mentioning how certain players don't fit in to a more tight-checking, defensive style.

Of course they are. No other team is really.. It's just silly to fire an executive over a player. Doesn't make sense.

Why do you keep saying this. If this is true t would had happened. Burke had ample time to do the deal with Van to overpay for Toronto. A more likely scenario would be that Burke was unwilling to overpay, whiled management wanted to get it done at all cost, thus being fired to facilitated that by promoting they guy who has previously traded for Luongo.

I hate everything about the ownership of this team, still a bunch of rich ****** sitting around a table pretending to be hockey people. Disheartening
