Big whoop, one game. If you didn’t see the lack of his play the other games then you are willfully ignoring it. He was mediocre compared to some of his last playoffs. He was only good on the PP where the game slows to a level he could use his vision. 5 on 5 he struggled with the intensity.
If the team scored just one goal without him In game 7 Boston would be playing Toronto right now. That'd be at least a medium sized whoop

What if Marchand scores on his Breakaway, what is Pasta scored on his and made a two goal game. There are a lot of what ifs, but they choked when they had a chokehold on the series

the craziest Krejci stat is that from 2014-15 until 2021-22

While Krejci was with AHL fodder and Bergy got 63+37

Games Played

Krejci- 458
Bergeron- 484

Even Strength Points
Krejci- 250
Per 82= 44 Points

Bergeron- 262
Per 82= 44 Points

Krejci should be a hall of Famer for producing as well as he did his last 7 years while having horrendous linemates

A true offensive dynamo who could produce with anyone

He’s retiring

#DKHKNOWSTUFF
If he does it's Hall-Pasta-Zacha as your top line. I just don't think Bergeron has what it takes to be a top center any more. He can play more years in a reduced role, primarily playing shutdown checking hockey and PK but if you're asking him to be your top center you're asking too much from that older heavily injured (over the years) body.
Marchand has played hard but he's not the same after that double hip surgery either. We need some younger and healthier bodies on this team.

When is the latest he could sign in Boston and be eligible to play in the playoffs?

I know the general assumption is that he's done but his production was still there last year. He's spoken about playing for Boston or no one. He's still got value to the club. He can still play a solid NHL game.

I know the grind of a season gets to him and that he's spoken about wanting to be home with his family, but it'd be pretty unique for a guy to retire while still being able to play so well in the league.

Seems like the general assumption is that he's done.

But a question - when is the latest he could sign in Boston and be eligible to play in the playoffs?
I think his ship has sailed, but wouldn't that be nice to have him on the roster when we win the cup next season.

Especially considering the cup the bruins won was with him as the top line center! Very underrated career.

I remember Chiaison signed randomly with the Red Wings in March

I believe the last day to sign an unsigned player is the trade deadline, so likely first week of March 2024.

I think Bergy and Krech would play absolutely awesome hockey if they signed in February and played anywhere from 12-20 regular season games before the playoffs. They'd be happy campers too.

Granted the team puts themselves in a good enough spot that late in the season to make it worthwhile for them to stay out up until then, I guess.

I was hoping someone else with more knowledge about the situation could answer, but I want to say the end of the trading deadline, but I’m only like 70% sure.

At worst hopefully this bumps your question so someone can either confirm or correct me

If only you'd accept correction in the Bergeron thread - cause no one's confirmed your "birds aren't real" theory over there.

I’m not the one that needs accepting on that there’s a decade worth of proof that backs my every claim, but thanks for your input!

This is the krejci thread though so let’s keep it to him. Plenty of opportunity for you to come talk over there if you’d like!

Krejci done he’s already told people I know well he’s retiring

He also got hurt early in season and was frustrated couldn’t play as he hoped most of season - he would need treatment and at times missed games

But he had no regrets coming back it was as much fun as he’s had - he loved this group and is heartbroken they didn’t get done they were that close and good

He is very close with Rask & Pastrnak so I expect him around and spotted at TD Garden and local links in the future - he’s heading back to Carolina end his BFF Torey Krug & family apparently will be his neighbor as well

What a bleeping bummer it ended this way but it was a heck of a 15 years
