Not for nothing, it might help to have Rutta around to get him settled, even if he started with the Barracuda (who are conveniently located in SJ as well, so no apartment hopping). If the Sharks landed Jiricek, I imagine he'd start with the Cuda, see spot duty as injuries happen, and then come up full-time after the trade deadline when Ceci moves. Kind of the same way they're currently handling Askarov.
It's hard to imagine a package that gets it done, though. Obviously Celebrini, Smith, Dickinson, and Askarov are off the table, as well as our 2025 1st and probably the 2026 1st as well. From the roster, Eklund and Zetterlund are keepers that I'm not interested in moving. Kinda leaves second tier picks and prospects as a base, which Columbus might turn their nose up at, rightfully or not.
I'd say the next tier of Sharks prospects would be Cagnoni, Bystedt, Graf, Musty, Mukhamadullin, Halttunen, Thompson, Pohlkamp, and Chernyshov. I value Cagnoni and Bystedt above the rest, and would hesitate to move them, but I would expect they would be the guys Columbus would ask for.
