^ this. Exactly this. You don't fall for their obvious attempt to change your team's mindset. That's all this is; a weak attempt at giving the Rangers something to think about other than their own game plan that worked in spades in game 1.

Perfectly said. Philly and Pitts tried the same ********! Stick to the game plan.

From ESPN's Katie Strang:

The 23-year-old winger also bowled over Price on a breakaway earlier in the game, a collision that seemed to leave Price shaken up. Kreider said that he was not trying to “run” Price, but that he lost his balance while trying to corral a bouncing puck.

“It wasn't really sitting for me, so I had my head down trying to settle the puck. I put it wide and somehow lost my footing. I thought maybe someone pressured me from behind,” he told reporters after the game. “I seem to have an issue staying on my feet on those, but then I went in skates first and I just had too much momentum and couldn't really avoid him. It didn't feel too good for me, either.”

At least this slap fest shows who's the strongest guy..

Phaneuf tried to wrestle him down, couldn't do it. Then it's Kreider's turn, no problem.

Some good camera work here in the second half, follows Kreider and shows what happened before the fight.

Montreal tried to be vigilantes against Ottawa last year and that didn't go so well for them.

It's cute. Let them try. They will fail.

Not sure if this is being discussed but I caught this and this may be something to look at the next couple of days going into Game 2.

David Desharnais just said to RDS that they will target Lundqvist in Game 2

From the post-game interview in the locker room.
Basically said something like "Rangers tried to take our best player out of the game, so we will try to do the same in Game 2"

Anyone confirm this? Heard it was a french interview...How do we handle this situation?
I mean, nooo don't hurt Nash anyone but him. :sarcasm:

The CBC guys apparently have a radar gun in the building and clocked CK's breakaway at 36 kph. The quote from their announcer was "he was moving at 36 kph, so it was like Price was hit by a car...because in fact Chris Kreider is built like a car."

That's rich.

"built like a car"

right.

wait till they see the vid of him jumping out of the pool.

If pacioretty went into king henrik like Kreider did with Price and got no penalty would no one question whether or not it was intentional? Really??????

No because Kreider had as much chance of getting injured on that play as Price. Or maybe you've forgotten what happened to Stamkos.

It's not like people haven't run into lundqvist in the exact same way in the past.

Oh, and btw:

Unless they insert Parros to destroy Kreider, he'd be toast.

Oh I forgot...we have Zucc

I hope the Habs do get distracted focusing on Lundqvist. It will just slow them down and if the Rangers keep flying they will carve them up again.

Henrik and the defense is still the rock....but this team can fly

Desharnais has never crashed a net in is life... just mind games. As a Habs fan, I don't think Kreider tried to do anything but score. That kid gave us all kinds of trouble, though.

Habs needed a rude wake up call to come down from the high of beating Boston.

Tell u one thing price looked petrified of CK on the breakaway goal right after.

After all the Montreal tears I hope he runs him over again. Montreal has no one that can do anything about it.

And Prust is a SHELL of who he was. Kreider would throw him around like a rag doll. This kid is a force and will be for a long time. Total freak of nature. He could jump out of a pool with Prust on his shoulders

If the Montreal Canadians want to go all Boston Bruin on our guys it will be both hypocritical and hilarious. If the Habs lose focus on hockey, that will be the Rangers quickest road to the finals.

I have really grown to like Zucc a TON but that gif is the perfect example of how his "toughness" is overrated. He has free reign to do stuff like that because he knows there is a 0% chance Parros is going to fight him. From Parros' perspective there is no point...either he destroys Zucc and looks like a bully, or Zucc manages to flip him over or something quick and he gets embarrassed.

I'm not saying Zucc isn't tough at all - he definitely is, most importantly in how he throws his weight around and goes into the corners with reckless abandon. But lets not pretend like he actually really scares anyone, or more outrageously could get a guy like Parros to back down if Parros really wanted retribution.

Too often, toughness gets correlated with size.

When, in reality, when you've already reached this level, its mental toughness thats the most important

Oh man, I'd throw a party if the Habs played Parros. And took out a useful player in the process.

Yeah, don't listen to anyone saying that DD is actually trying to get the Habs to run Hank. I don't think that's what he meant at all, like others have said, how would that even be an effective game plan? Crashing the net and getting into that area is part of the game. He probably mean that the Habs should start doing that to get into Hank's head. Not to bowl him over like that, but to be in his face and go hard to the net.

That said, Kreider really wouldn't take a run at a goalie on purpose to injure him. He's still young and when he's engaged in the game, he's just focused on trying to play hard and score goals. No way we tries something like that. He just wanted to score and lost an edge. He happened to be skating at 50 mph so that makes him a runaway train.

It's no secret that the Canadiens see a need to be more engaged. They had some extremely, extremely flat play out there yesterday that the Rangers took huge advantage of.
It goes without saying that bothering Lundqvist will be part of their effort in Game 2. Guys like Pacioretty, Eller, Emelin can be pretty effective that way. This is not a case of worrying about getting goaded into a fight (as Prust was trying to do all during game 1), but simply a recognition that the Habs are going to try to 'bring it', so we should expect more in front of and around Henrik.

Edit: not so much Emelin around Henrik, meant to type Prust. He will no doubt try to be more focused, and less of a loose cannon guy out there.

If Price doesn't start, only then would I be concerned about them running Lundqvist. More so out of a sense of necessity rather than vengeance.

The scary part for Parros, in that gif example, is if Zucc actually managed to knock him down. It would be a huge embarrassment and a destroyed reputation as a heavyweight, because of the size difference.

Who knows what Zucc is capable of, since he got balls the size of a house he probably knows how to fight as well.
